Edinburgh Bakery Turnbull G Ltd — Restaurant in Sunderland

Not very happy this morning..I had drove up to the bakery this morning for 8am (Saturday 9/11/24) to buy some Stotties to take to family from. the North East now living in Nottingham. So I couldn't get parked so dropped my partner off, who has slight memory problem and off he went and came back to the car and said the dont sell Pizza, so had to explain to him that no we wanted 2 Stotties. So off he went again and came back second time and said the woman in the shop said that they didn't sell Stotties? So I rang the shop number and asked, do you not sell Stotties in the shop? No she said? We only sell them to order? So I hung up and thought well that's strange as we bought some over the counter last time we were in there, as my daughter and her husband also bought some that day to take back home with them ??? So am afraid to say we won't be back and they were lovely Stotties too, find it strange.to believe that the local bakery do not sell them over the counter, especially on a Saturday-when we have bought them in there over the counter before. Just don't understand the logic of that but really disappointed at their response...

Can't fault the bakery at all. Has loads to choose from everything looks really fresh and tasty. I try something different from the sweet section every time. So glad I found this bakery. Only downside I would say is the customer service.

**Tried the bakery again after about 5 months from my last review everything you get from there you can't fault at all, however like before the customer service is below average. The lady behind the counter serviced an older gentlemen before me, she was smiling and laughing and making friendly conversation. When it got to me it seemed like I had ruined her day visiting the bakery. She rings everything thing as she goes doesn't look in your direction, places eveything on the counter what you ordered then puts your plastic bag on the side and says it's went through (I paid on card). Over 13 pounds spent. 1 wholemeal loaf 2.69 2 cornbeef pasties, a small whiff of cornbeef only. 2 cheese scones, not a whiff of cheese at all small hints of yellow stuff. 2 fruit scones, tasteless. 2 caramel slices, very very thick bases, overtop sweet caramel, see through chocolate top. 2 vennia whirls, sickly sweet cream filling. 1 strawberry tart, half strawberry limited sweetened sickly cream. 1 cream donut again sickly sweet. Worst 13 pounds ever spent. The alleged treats I bought were over loaded with sugar and bulked up with cheap rubbish. The pasties and scones had no taste.of what there supposed to have been. I have traveled passed this bakery for 3.years today purches was the first and the last. I would not buy anything again due to the over sweetened sugar stodge and lack of any quality fillings in pasties and scones. Sorry but this was expensive and very poor experience. They need to modernize and have healthier tastier real food, not...
