Mangal House — Restaurant in Sunderland

We ordered a take away for delivery, and ordered it to be delivered at 8pm as we were due home just before then. Just eat then said it was was delayed until 9:20pm so we knew we had plenty of time. I received a call at 6:20pm saying they were outside. I apologised and said it was ordered for 8pm, we are not there to collect it. The driver apologised and said he would sort it. At around 8:15pm I rang up just to confirm that the food was still coming and a young girl answered and said she would find out. Suddenly a very rude and angry man came on the phone, he did not say who he was, and started actually shouting at me down the phone for refusing the order. I tried to explain the problem but he would not let me get a word in. He said on his end it did not say 8pm but I had the app open and it said 8pm on my end. I even tried to say it may be a just eat error but he would not listen. He was extremely aggressive and condescending. I asked to speak to someone less unpleasant so he put the young girl back on the phone, who was full of apologies and incredibly helpful. So I would like to thank her and point out how good she was considering how aggressive and unprofessional her colleague was. When the food was delivered the driver was lovely, and he did show the ticket that said 6:55pm (still later than they actually tried the first time) but I explained that I had triple checked and the app said 8pm. I absolutely think this was a just eat error and did not bother me in the slightest, these things happen. This review is based on the vile behaviour of one of the staff. This is the first time I've ever left a negative review for anything because I was so appalled by the way in which he spoke to me. We order from here regularly and enjoy the food, so I really hope the establishment get rid of this...

I have previously gave this restaurant a 5 star review, however it must be under new management, hopeless now. Arrived at 645PM with the wife, ordered potato skins x2, a pepperoni pizza and a Lasagne, nothing too extravagant as we both had things to do at home before work the next day. After a pain skating wait of thinking we had been forgotten about at 727PM the starters arrived, which were nice, however whilst eating them the restaurant staff seemed it appropriate to set up a high chair around 6 inches from the end of out table for a family group of around 15 people. Starters were finished and we got to enjoy the 20 minute wait for the main with a rattle getting thrown off our table a few times and unbearable noise from the neighbouring chavvy family. Hardly relaxing. Main course came around 745PM. Host apologised for the wait again, could have done with another drink, but the food was dumped and he ran away, maybe because of the loud baby essentially on our table. (to confirm not our baby) Ate the main course and had to get up and go to the bar to pay as again I think we'd been forgotten about. Managed to leave with a splitting head ache at 805hrs. One work for this place now - Rubbish. Avoid, there's plenty better Italian restaurants in Fencehouses...

Having previously ordered from Mangal House and enjoying their food and being impressed with their speed of delivery i chose to order again however on this occasion I was very disappointed. I rang the order in at 6:50pm. I then received a phone call from the restaurant advising that the delivery would be approx half an hour which was fair enough, this was at 7:30pm. The delivery didn't arrive until 8:35pm and we could of forgiven the lateness until we discovered the food was cold! When i rang the restaurant to let them know I wasnt offered an apology, the young girl on the phone spoke to someone and offered us "another one" by this time we had already waited an hour and 45 mins for our food and it was close to 9 o clock on a Sunday night. A refund would of been more appropriate or our next order for free as a good will gesture. I told the girl on the phone we did not want a replacement as it was too late, at this point she apologised which was appreciated but felt let down after our precious experiences with Mangal House...
