Green Bamboo Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in Sunderland

Food wasn’t bad and it came to an alright price. However customer service is terrible. Called and placed an order for delivery around half 6. No food arrived at ten to 8 so called asking if there was an update. Woman on the food immediately had an attitude saying they had called us multiple times, the driver had been ringing our doorbell and banging on the door for 25 mins before taking the food back. Our living room where we were sitting is right next to the front door and we have front door notifications, so we knew they had not been here. The woman eventually said they said they will send someone else out. The driver came about ten minutes later saying that the previous driver was new and got lost and couldn’t find us, but he did find us fine. He even offered to take it back for replacement of it was cold.

Our house is in a new build estate so we would’ve understood if the driver got lost and that’s why it was late, but for the woman in the shop to turn around and lie, then blame us and have an attitude for absolutely no reason is disrespectful and disappointing🤷🏼‍♀️...

I don't know what happened to this place,I swear for 5yrs I loved every meal I got from here. The chicken prawns and char suit were always cooked perfect the whole meal was prepared with skill n care and tasted beautiful. However since just before the covid in 2019 it changed,I realised they must have lost the good chef and the guy that has replaced him just either dont care or dont know better. Everything is overcooked and has a smokey burnt taste as if the woks needed seasoning or hadn't been cleaned between meals so the tastes were transferred. I've stopped using this place because I've tried it at 6month intervals and still disgusting. Dont bother. I'm so sad cos I got to find a new Chinese...

Always order from here but last night got the spicy box it was disgusting in the bin tonight order chicken chips n gravy and my partner orders what was supposed to be hot n chille king prawn n chicken hot n spicey it came and it was king prawn chicken in sweet n sour sauce spoke to to the owner and told him to have word with his chefs 50.00 spent in 2 days and all went in the bin whoever you are owner your chef has not a clue cutting corners and I told you on the phone I have been a chef for 40 year and I no the...
