Signatures Italian Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Sunderland

This is a nice restaurant. Food portions are rather large, and there is a good range on the menu. I had the chicken Kiev, which was such big that I would have loved to have since the chicken that it came from. I did find it unusual that it came with peas and a side salad. One option would have been fine. Whilst tasty, there was too much butter flooding the plate. My daughter was not overly keen on the bolognaise, which is one of her favourites at an Italian. Starters were wonderful, again rather large for a starter. The rest of our party enjoyed their meal and the prices are very reasonable.

Staff were wonderful and friendly and attentive without interrupting your meal which is always a plus for me.

The restaurant is great for seating large parties but it was very hot in the restaurant which made it uncomfortable to eat your meal. But it was a warm day some aircon would have made a huge difference.

Giving one star because can't give none. I rang Signatures hours ago to order Sunday lunch takeout and was told they were really busy, so I rang back two hours later, from hospital, as my mother is there and I have a lot of running around to do. Hence ordering Sunday lunch just for me.

I was told it would be ready for collection at 5pm (I was ringing just after 3:30pm). So, I agreed and left my telephone number.

I arrived just after 5pm, really ready to eat and girl disappeared and another came out apologising that there was no food left! In other words, I had wasted hours, when all I wanted was for someone to cook some food for me, to save me at this horrible time.

I asked why they hadn't phoned me and she said she was just about to! Considering that it was after collection time, that was obviously a cop out!!

This is absolutely atrocious service, with no respect for customer relations whatsoever. I am now in tears and looking to cook before returning to...

Went here for a family birthday meal. I've only been a couple of times but the food has always been nice and quite reasonably priced. They have a good selection of meals and also havens childrens menu too. There little parking here as it's on a residential street. Only downside to this place was the bar. We went on a Saturday night and therr were too big birthday parties that night so it was very busy and there were only two people serving drinks across the bar in the restaurant the bar at the entrance, at one point I was standing for 10 minutes waiting to be served with a queue forming behind me. Not the bar staff fault though they were working as quick as they could they should have just had more staff on that night. Would definitely go...
