Would not go here again for food! The pub is nicely done out inside however the food was disgusting! We were a party of 5 of which one ordered a hunters chicken and chips. This came with no barbecue sauce on or any sauce at all.. When we complained we were told by the manager that the BBQ was white so therefore we wouldn't be able to see it on the chicken even though the chicken tasted nothing like BBQ. Another got the Cajun chicken which had no flavour at all both chicken meals were sent back as the chicken was also very chewy and clearly frozen chicken stuck in a fryer. Then two people ordered ribs and sweet potato chips. The full plate was just grease the fries tasted of grease only, no other flavour at all. The ribs came with a sticky BBQ sauce apparently... but on the plate was a greasy runny tasteless sauce in a pot which I think was supposed to be to smoother the ribs as the menu said. This was just a heart attack on a plate! The full thing was just over loaded with grease and had no other taste at all. When we came to complain the manager was so rude it was disgusting. She told us the BBQ sauce was in fact bbq sauce because she watched them make it.. nothing to do with the taste or how bad it tasted. I only wish I had taken a picture to add to this review. There was no apology from the manager to say sorry for how bad it was when we told her we wanted the money back after the 4 plates were barely touched. She grabbed the plates off the table and strutted off to the kitchen. Then sent a different waitress over to give us a refund which in fact as a manager should of been done by her. Very poor service by a manager who should be setting an example to the rest of her colleagues. Would not go here again which is a shame as it is nicely done out inside but the service and the food has put me...
Read moreWe visited Teal Farm Pub recently and while the food was very good overall, the customer service left a lot to be desired.
We had booked for four people, but on the way two more friends decided to join us. We tried calling the pub to check if this would be an issue, but no one answered the phone. On arrival, we asked the young lady behind the counter if it was okay. She said she would check, so we waited—standing there for 10 minutes—before she disappeared and never came back.
During this time, we asked a young lad behind the bar for drinks and also if he could check on the situation, joking that the girl might have fallen into the cellar! He eventually told us we were on table 1 and could probably squeeze onto table 2. Unfortunately, table 1 was already taken, and table 2 was only really suitable for four people, but we managed. This was particularly frustrating given the pub wasn’t busy at all, with multiple empty tables clearly available.
When it came to ordering food and drinks, the staff weren’t welcoming. No smiles, no friendliness, and no effort to make us feel looked after. When our food arrived and we asked for cutlery, we were simply pointed in its direction rather than being offered any help.
That said, the food itself was very good. The only downside was the steak in the mixed grill, which was a little tough, but all the other meals were great and well-prepared.
Overall, Teal Farm Pub gets a big tick for the quality of its food, but the staff need to remember that working front of house means more than just serving—it’s about customer service. A smile, some friendliness, and a little effort to make guests feel welcome go a long way. Sadly, that was missing here, and it’s the difference between wanting to return and...
Read moreMy recent visit to Teal Farm was nothing short of a nightmare. The abysmal service provided by the apathetic staff reflected a blatant disregard for the most basic principles of hospitality. It was abundantly clear that the notion of customer satisfaction was a foreign concept to them.
From the moment we stepped foot in the establishment, it was evident that we were nothing more than inconveniences to the staff. Their lack of interest in ensuring a pleasant dining experience was palpable. It's as if they were actively trying to drive away customers.
To add insult to injury, the manager's handling of our grievances was nothing short of abhorrent. Rather than acknowledging the glaring issues with the service, the manager opted to deflect blame and make feeble excuses, demonstrating a complete lack of accountability.
Save yourself the agony and steer clear of the Teal Farm pub at all costs. Trust me when I say that subjecting yourself to such a dismal dining experience is not worth it. There are countless other establishments that value their customers and take pride in providing exceptional service - Teal Farm is certainly not one of them.
To follow on, the owner shall reply to this review stating that the level of service is completely out of the norm and will be looked at, after deflecting any blame (as previously stated). However if you read previous reviews for this establishment you will see that the shocking service is throughly expected and the team have no aspirations of rectifying...
