Pooped in for hot chocolate and cake..we came after it reopened and our got drinks finally arrived after we went up to find out where they were because we had all finished our food waiting...we were regular visitors before it had it most recent facelift family of six spending a fortune but food was faultless. Tady we came in at about 3...you queue up to be called over to the till but you can't see the display from where you stand waiting to be served so you go over..ere I haven't had chance to see the cakes yet..cakes chose .over to till last serving was nice took over the cakes and ordered a black forest hit choc..took cakes over to table, didn't fancy cake so went back and ordered chips...chips duly arrived ..no hot choc...ladies 2 tables down went up to chase their drinks..clearly not happy...their drinks turned up ..the table next to us drinks turned up even though they arrived safe Ter us..chips also eaten now, gasping for a drink...went up to the drink pass..to see a lowly hot choc sat their all alone ..were,is this table 71...yes,I can see it is ...shall I just take this You can if you want (Thinks) It's the only way I'm going to get my dad little hot choc I'll take it myself, yes It's so Luke warm I can hold it by the glass rather the the handle I paid ,£17 for 2 cakes,an apple juice and half a cup ofkyje warm hot chocolate..the thermometer read 30°...ai tells me hot drinks should be served 50-60° so thirsty and so annoyed at being ripped off for a second time I could down the drink in two.. The new system doesn't work .you can't look at cakes...drinks seem to always come out when you have finished all your food ..the hot drinks often had a delay before the face lift...experience now says it's a big delay and your drinks will be cold..spent £17on cakes and drinks for 2 so what would that have been if it was all of us for a meal The cafe is either a victim of its own success...a very badly researched and planned idea and I can't believe anyone has asked customers opinions ..I can't pay that again for those results which is a real shame as the amount of people we have referred to this garden ctr is...
Read moreOrdered coffee..hot chocolate..and 2 pieces of carrot 🥕 cake.. the girl said they would bring drinks over to our table.. went to sit down with my friend.. put my hand under the back seat to pull the wooden chair out to sit down..it was sticky and my fingers stuck to it..it felt really unpleasant.. we talked about it..and guessed it was the spray they were disinfecting the surfaces with..we sat and waited for what seemed like for ever..I wanted my coffee to start eating my cake..I saw 2 cups on the end of counter..waiting to be delivered to a table..I went to the guy who I could see who'd been delivering other items to tables and asked if there was any sign of our drinks..he went to the 2 cups..and took them to someone else..so after what again seemed for ever..the girl who served us came to us and said..'is everything okay ' I said it would be if we had the drinks we ordered..she said oh ok I will check.. came back and said..they are just doing them now..tbf the drinks were nice..when she brought them over..I did show her..when you leaned back on the wooden chair..you stuck to it...🤨 or if you put your hand on it the same thing happened..she said..no one has said anything about it..so said sorry but I am..she agreed it was likely to be the spray used to 'clean' the surfaces after people leave.. when she left the person sat behind us said she found the same thing..ie stickiness..which she agreed felt slimy..think they need to wash down with hot soapy water and start again with a better product..disappointing service..and surroundings...
Read moreSo Caffe Amore calls itself a cafe, but someone needs to tell the staff. I am convinced they think they are serving in a 5 star restaurant worthy of Michelin stars, but not in the classy surroundings, amazing food, happy welcome kind of way but in a pretentious, we are all better than you and I can't believe you want to sit here and just have a coffee kind of way! As a group of 6 we were made to wait as they didn't have a table. None of their tables are suitable for 6 so I could see the waiter struggling to know what to do with us. 10 minutes passed before i intervined. There were plenty of tables for 4 with room for a chair on the end so I suggested this. I said that my 5 year old daughter can sit on my lap. He was not happy with this and so started the lengthy discussion about "if anything goes wrong that it won't be my fault". Comforting words as we found our seats and he left us to it. Not sure how all the other coffee shops cope but for some reason it was above and beyond for Caffe Amore to allow us to use their facilities. Coffee was over priced and average. The food the other tables were having all looked fine. The location is rustic, but it is in a garden centre so perfect for a simple cafe serving good food. So why dont they do that? Why the pompous unfriendly attitude from the staff with delutions of grandour. We have been a few times because the garden centre is good butthe experience in this jumped up coffee house is...
