Balkan Heart — Restaurant in Tameside

We called-in on the second day of opening for a drink in the bar - the welcome and hospitality was fabulous. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Just a glass of (very good) house white before moving on to dine elsewhere. We returned the following day (Sunday) to a similarly enthusiastic welcome. Early evening so relatively quiet. The menu was explained carefully (important as we're vegetarian) and with the help of staff, we identified the vegetarian options and those that could be served as vegetarian versions. The food was clearly freshly made - great ingredients, and served quickly and expertly. Portions were large to enormous and all dishes were very well presented and tasted superb. The wine list is short but good (great to see high-quality Romanian wines featured). We ordered a bottle of red (merlot) - an excellent choice and accompanied the chosen dishes very well. In all, a massively positive experience - very friendly and welcoming staff, a really pleasant ambience (darkish interior, modern decor, spotlessly clean everywhere with gleaming loos), fabulous and plentiful food and drinks, and surprisingly reasonable prices. A hidden gem ♥️

It was my first time coming there, as i was invited by some friends.

The place looks modern and rustic in the same time, and the staff was really attentive in a nice way.

The menu had plenty to choose from, and the prices were decent enough, not to make me worry about the final bill.

Now about the food, it was amazing. Everything was spot on, including the starters.

The food is very unique, with not too much seasoning to overpower the actual taste of the food, so i could tell everything was fresh and fragrant . Usually other restaurants ruin the food by overpowering the food with spices and such, but this was not the case here , witch made me enjoy it even more .

The service was relatively fast, and the atmosphere was nice and cozy.

I found parking at 100-200m away, with plenty of room to park , and it was 1 min away walking distance.

I would totally recomend it and can't wait to...

The food was incredible — rich flavors, generous portions, and clearly made with love. Every dish we tried, from the grilled meats to the homemade pastries, was perfectly seasoned and authentic. You can truly taste the tradition in every bite.

Prices were very reasonable considering the high quality and portion sizes. Great value for money!
