After watching several social media videos, our family decided to visit Indish Bistro. Unfortunately, we were truly disappointed with both the service and the overall quality of the experience. While some of the curries were decent, there was a constant lack of food. At one point, we were waiting for food, and we were told that it would be brought out every 15 minutes. Since we visited for Iftar, the waiting time felt excessive.
No one checked on us for drinks or water for a long time, and when we finally received water, we had to wait even longer for glasses, which was frustrating. We also struggled to find basic essentials like knives, forks, napkins, or tissues. Eventually, we had to get up and find the cutlery ourselves at the front. At one point, there weren’t even fresh plates available, and the food station was half empty and messy. Tables were left dirty for a long time without being cleared, adding to the overall disorganized atmosphere.
When we asked for cake, we were told it had run out. However, moments later, after realizing which table we were sitting at, they suddenly brought some out and served it to us, which felt disappointing for a buffet-style restaurant. The food options were very limited, with most dishes being cold, only one type of rice available, and overall minimal variety. It seemed like they were only making food if they noticed new guests arriving, rather than maintaining a properly stocked buffet.
The service was extremely poor, and unfortunately, this is not a place we would visit again. We came to celebrate our sister’s 21st birthday but left feeling hungry, as there was not enough food, and it didn’t match the expectations set by their online promotions. The only positive experience was one staff member who kindly offered us complimentary lamb chops, even though they weren’t part of the buffet menu his kindness was appreciated.
Additionally, the hygiene standards were lacking. There were no tissues or any essentials in the men’s toilet, which was unacceptable.
When we left, no one came over to acknowledge our dissatisfaction or even thank us for visiting, except for the lady at the bar who said goodbye. Overall, we were highly unsatisfied, and we won’t be returning. The Ramadan buffet was far from what...
Read moreCame for iftaar buffet left very disappointed. Its advertised as 30 item buffet, i was struggling to see more than 10 items, £15 a head is ok if the food was edible but most of it wasn't.
The sheek kebabs first batch i had very very very spicy, i don't know if the chef was angry or something at the customers.
Then second batch was undercooked and not edible. The first batch of samosas had been sat there who knows how many days but they were rock solid nearly broke my tooth.
The chicken wings were tasteless and dry, and most the buffet was empty majority of the time. It was getting refilled but with small portion everytime, even though you had a full house of customers they should be big portions put out. All money saving not good.
The glasses were all dirty with marks everywhere, the cutlery however was clean, the plates were hit and miss half clean some dirty.
No starters or curries labeled at all, not good for people with allergies. I don't have allergies but imagine those who do. But even for a normal customer you would like to know what the thing is haha, couldn't differentiate what curries was what, the old man in front of me was shouting at staff for that, a simple paper with writing on it would do
Food put us off so bad we didn't bother with desserts, went to get food from another place after, i have never left a buffet feeling hungry but yeah this was just terrible.
This could have been a great thing if done properly and not for greed. Was what supposed to be a iftaar to remember with family became something we all regret.
Also very loud music playing, i recommend going to palm buffet instead in oldham miles better and costs only a little bit more....
Read moreMe and a friend tried Indish restaurant even though we knew that they don't sell alcohol and you can't bring your own drink . I was very impressed with the restaurant, it looked beautiful. We went at five pm and we were the only people in there. The waiter was very nice, he knew everything on the menu. We tried the chicken khari and asked for chicken breast, off the bone. It can come on the bone and you can have chicken thigh if you wish. When it arrived, it was in a huge dish, which was for sharing. I wasn't ready for the sheer size of it. It smelt flagrantly delicious and was just as tasty. That was far too much for 2 people, so we divided the rest of it and had a doggy bag each to take home. We had no alcholol prosecco, which still made me feel merry??? The papadoms were nice, and the pickle portions were very generous. We had a naan between us. The waiter said it would be small and did we want to have the family sized? Luckily we said no- the naan itself was more than enough for 2 people anyway . The homemade desserts in the fridge looked absolutely delicious, but we were just so full from the main course that we couldn't eat anything else even though I was so tempted to try 1 and undo my belt after.
If you can forego having alcohol, this place is highly recommended. I can't remember the last time I ate indian food that was so tasty. The only real fault I had with the place was it was just a little bit cold for me, especially with it being winter. Other than that there was nothing to fault from the service or food and drink, it was all very well done. There is parking outside too, and only a 2 minute walk from...
