Today myself and my partner decided to go to jade gardens for a meal, as I had been last year and had a really good experience....not this time.
We ordered our soup to start and a few other starters, when it came we ate the soup and nothing more as it just wasn’t appetising I said ‘let’s try the mains’ so we ordered our mains and then they brought over two plates that had stains all over them and we’re greasy and food still on both, due to this we both said we didn’t want to eat from here and also the fact I am 6 months pregnant made me think it was unhygienic, I looked around the restaurant for a member of staff and nobody was around but I could hear them say in the back talking away. When they eventually came with the mains I told them we didn’t want to eat from here as the plates were filthy and the starters were horrible and asked for the bill, when she came back she gave me the bill and it was £50 I told her I wasn’t paying £50 for two bowls of soup and she said that they had made the food for us so we would have to pay. This conversation went on a while and then she walked away and left us unattended for 20 mins, then a different woman came over and told us we had to pay all of the money I told her that I wasn’t going to for two bowls of soup to be told she was going to ring the police! I told her to ring them as they will just think it’s ridiculous and she told me she would. 20 minutes later she came back, I asked her if the police had been called and she told me that hadn’t.
We had at that point been sat there for 40 minutes waiting for them to sort the bill out and it’s was 22.10pm I reiterated that I was six months pregnant and that we had had two bowls of soup at 20.30. She then left our table laughing which we told her was unprofessional.
Next another lady come over which was now round three of us telling the story and she offered us to pay £30 and that would be ok, I told her again I wasn’t paying £30 for two soups and she said I had to, when it got to 20 past 10 I told her enough was enough and they had 5 minutes to sort it as they had been back and fourth for 50 minutes and I was getting tired, she came back and offered us to pay £20 which at that point I’d had enough so paid the £20 and left. All I can say is WHAT A JOKE! I could say so much more about the way the staff behaved and the only member of staff that was polite was a young lady that finished her shift at half 9, she was the only good part of the experience and the poor girl was bossed around told to be faster putting my soup down and left on her own whilst the Chinese women spoke in there own language, how she still works there and hasn’t walked out is beyond me! If I could rate it less that a one star I would!...
Read moreWhen I first went there I was put off by the outsid3 but then had a nice meal so I went back with a party of 12 again the service wasn't bad but the bill seemed over price but like you do I just paid it and off we went then me and my wife went and the service was so so the English ladie was great but the rest was rude then I checked my bill and they had charged me for over £10 worth of drinks that I didn't have bit with a bit of talking they realised I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't have so they did the bill again. Went back with my wife and kids to now notice the toilets were discussing but ok didn't let it bother me but then they over charge again by about £14 for desserts that again we didn't have. I was told that it was a old bill and it never normally happens....... really..... Then the last and final time I will be honest I could be bothered to drive to Manchester (big mistake) to get good food with good service this time my food was cold the staff (apart from the English ladie) was rude. We ate very little as the food was basically Iceland food heated up and then left to go cold and when I again questioned my bill I didn't realise that my 9 year old could be classed as a adult?????but again I just paid as I just wanted to get out of there then she took my copy of the bill and when I asked for it she was very reluctant to give it me. On the way out I noticed where the pitching was (next to the discussing toilets. PLEASE ......... don't eat here go to Manchester it not worth the food poisoning as all my family felt sick the...
Read moreSo upset with this restaurant. We have been going here for years and the majority of the time the food and service have been spot on. The last time I went was very different and has completely ruined my experience and thoughts about the staff. Two weeks ago I visited, myself and partner had just eaten a soup and a starter platter was just being served to us when we received a call advising that a family member was in a critical condition and we had to get to the hospital. Having known the staff such a long time we were honest and went to tell them we were having to leave, I was crying and desperate to leave but the staff insisted that we paid the bill, trying to charge us over £40 for 2 soups and a mixed starter. We refused and said we’d pay for what we’d had which they then took a good 5 minutes to work out and charge us. They made not effort to rush for us dispite knowing we had an emergency. The delay meant that I was late getting to the hospital and I missed the final moments of my nanas life. I am truly heartbroken about this and thought the loss of my nana is of course nothing to do with jade garden the fact that they delayed me and tried arguing with us for the full cost has ruined my opinion of the restaurant. Knowing we were regular customers I 100% believe that they should have trusted us to come back and they should have told us to go and pay at a later date knowing that we had the emergency. Truely...
