The Lodge — Restaurant in Tameside

Table booked for 1.30,arrived at 1.15, nothing set up at the tables. Sat down and after 20mins asked if we could order. 30mins later asked where our food was, was told it was being plated up. The food arrived after 10 mins, the stuffing balls were black and rock hard, the roast potatoes had been fried too long as well, the vegetables were half cooked. Asked for ground black pepper not the powder black pepper didn’t know what I meant. After 40 minutes of being ignored to clear away the plates I telephoned the pub and asked if they could please clear the table. They did and asked if everything was ok. I explained what was wrong. After another 20 mins we managed to get to order the sweet. When it arrived we were told that we would soon have to move as they needed the table, I responded that if we had been dealt with in an appropriate manner we would have finished a while ago. Upon asking for the bill I said that because we arrived at 1.15 and it was now 3.20 and we had waited an unacceptable long time and the food was not of a satisfactory standard .we would like a discount, we received 85p off the bill. The management must have been having a bad day or thought it was acceptable to treat customers in this manner. I have never had to leave a review like this before. Rather than put things right or accept this was a credible complaint the management acted with contempt for the customer, this is one local business I shall not...

The Lodge Hotel is a lovely clean modern pub in Dukinfield I have been on numerous occasions with just my husband for a lovely meal or with family and friends for birthdays and celebratory meal. There as often been 20 of us including children and the professional, friendly staff always go out of their way to accommodate our needs. You know how awkward kids can be, saying I don’t want beans, pea’s etc. The menu homemade traditional English pub grub e.g Fish and Chips, hand made pies, chicken, burgers, Lasagna, curry etc. Plus a healthy choice menu for those who are counting the calories. Great kids menu. Lovely Desserts. Always freshly cooked and delicious. I would advise to book in advance as always gets booked up quickly, especially for there Sunday Roast as it gets very busy. It is proper fresh meat’s and veggies. The quiz night on a Thursday is a fabulous night. Great atmosphere and free chip butty. They televise all live sports in the tap room and have a pool table. We booked using the number on this site. The number is no longer used and no confirmation was received. We arrived half early to be to it has had 3 new managers since Jan and on new number was put on this site. The chef said we could sit in the vault and we were happy to do, on receiving our food 5 out of the 6 that were eating complained the food was cold.
