Came earlier today, cute place and nice food. Shame, the experience was ruined by a very rude girl serving. She pet a dog that came in and then continued to prepare drinks and serve people without washing her hands (another girl that also pet the dog washed her hands immediately after). Later on she came to serve our food and I told her. She immediately got defensive and said it’s not true, that she has washed her hands (maybe she did by that point, but not for a while after). She then continued being rude and saying ‘if you don’t like dogs, why come to a dog friendly cafe’ - well I do, I have one, but I also like proper hygiene. Then another great comment was ‘why are you so observant’ - well I was bored waiting for my food, why wouldn’t I be?! Anyway, would have been nice that instead she said sorry, didn’t notice or something like that. This kind of attitude really puts people off visiting cute local places like this. Read moreWe had a meet up with my antenatal girls today and had a veggie afternoon tea which was very pleasant . Our table was laid nicely and the girls serving were very friendly and helpful. We had a selection of cheese pickle and egg mayo on white & brown doorstep crusty bread . A selection of orio cup cakes and scones, jam and clotted cream . We shared two platters between 4 ( should have been five) washed down with decaf pots of tea ( refilled on request). It was quiet today school holidays and mums busy maybe - but nice setting n’r Godstone green - easy road side parking for up to 3 hours too.
