This was phenomenal. I have tried many indian cuisine but this was absolutely unreal. the mango chutney put any other to shame. the expertise from our server Noz was amazing and gave us really great suggestions based on past experiences and preferences. They were so accommodating to change any part of the meal to fit it for us. A lovely environment to be in, we were alone for the whole meal in the entire restaurant and if only others knew how good this place is, it would be a different story. They lived up to the hype with the “worlds best onion bhaji” by a long way. I actually struggle to find something wrong with any part of my experience. It was the perfect cross between feeling like sitting down with an old friend, and going somewhere and just wishing i’d discovered it sooner. If I had to complain about anything at all, the mugs were so good at insulating the teas that they stayed boiling hot for so long I had to wait for them to cool down. Just unbelievable in here. How refreshing to find a good old fashioned Indian nearby 🥳 so many have tried to reinvent themselves with swish lighting and sterile looking furniture- not Raja. It’s just what I like from an Indian- traditional Indian decor (please don’t do any swish upgrades), welcoming staff who knew their menu v well and made some good suggestions when ordering- smartly dressed, some wearing bow ties, great Cobra beer, the food tasted sooo delicious and was perfect and served quickly. Couldn’t fault it - plus the price was reasonable and probably best value in the area too. Could there have been a bit of Indian music in the background? Maybe there was. Stopped here today with my family were just back from France and needed a bite to eat before heading back to Scotland. The staff were all lovely and we really enjoyed the food. Onion Bajis were so tasty. I had bombay potatoes my husband had a chicken curry and my son had the sag ponir.
