Skaterham Skatepark — Attraction in Tandridge

My 8yo son went here as a guest for a party. Ultimately he fell over and broke his finger. I full understand that he was partaking in a hazardous event but two things concerned massively.

First off a teenager staff member was going around at the rate of knots in areas where customers would congregate, without any care. I am sure that person is a gifted scooter user but it's out of order doing that in the waiting area, I was safer standing on the skate ramp. Secondly, you know you're having a party for 8 year olds, why isn't that young person helping or teaching the kids some basics. You would have fewer injuries with someone guiding the kids who've never done that before.

Skaterham - what a fantastic place! My son and his best friend recently had their 8th birthday party here. It was a huge success! All 20 boys had the best time and the majority told us ‘this is the best party ever!’ The disco lights added to the fun and we were able to play our own music / playlist which was great. It was so lovely to see them all having so much fun. Darren was especially helpful when we were planning the party and was very understanding when we had to reschedule due to covid - his flexibility made a stressful situation not so stressful. Skaterham is a brilliant skatepark and charity. We regularly go to the Tuesday skateboard session which is awesome. Really friendly community, with the advanced kids being very supportive of the younger ones who are finding their feet. We've really enjoyed events which have taken place there such as the Vert Series, such a good vibe with people traveling from all over the country to attend. Price to enter is really accessible as well, sessions £2-£3. As a parent of a neurodiverse child, Darren went above and beyond with a recent request and I am extremely grateful for his kindness.
