The Coffee House co — Restaurant in Teignbridge

This used to be in the early days a good coffee shop. My friend introduced me to it and I took there a few people. Today we decided to go again with my friend and I had a good experience from Andrew who I believe is the owner of the cafe. When I had taken a friend there before and asked for a few accommodating changes due to us been vegetarian he came out with some very good stuff.

Today, not only I am dissappointed, but also I would never back there again. We sat down with my friend having a good time. The sandwich came after the sweet and the coffee and we both thought that it looked shocking. Squashed and unatractive and not even a bit of salad or something on the side. So, we decided to say something to the lady who served us. Very politely I said that it would be nice if I could have some salad with it and she looked at the toasted cheese. Mind you, I had spoken beforehand about what I would like. The lady went away in the kitchen to talk to Andrew (as I said before I believe he is the owner and the manager) and before I had realised what was happening he came out without waprning or discussion he grabbed my plate abruptly and rudely and he disappeared. He then comes back with the same rude attitude to leave on the table the money I had paid for for the toast. We were both shocked at this attitude, but we tried to put it behind us and continue. He then comes out to tell me to never go there again. Appaling, disgusting, rude and ignorant attitude especially towards a customer. I told him that he was rude at least three times. He would not budge, or apologise, or even acknowledge his horrible behaviour in front of his other customers.

I think this guy needs to be restrained and he should not be running business that has to do with the public. Totally unacceptable. He needs training, and self-realisation before he even does anything esle.

It is such a pity he ruined our good time with my friend. l was shocked and I could not believe my eyes. I even asked the lady who served us "what did you tell him" in doubt of what I was experiencing and her response was that what you told me.

I love this little, local coffee shop. We are so lucky to have this in our town. Great coffee and hot drinks, my son has a regular hot chocolate here every week as a treat. The cakes are delicious and often I get to try something I've not had before, along with the typical favorites. They also do periodic evening events like live music, with excellent food! Absolutely lovely lunch here. Incredibly accommodating to make two dishes vegan. The mushroom soup was a much needed hug in a bowl on a rainy day and I added croutons that were served on the side as I was eating it.
