Friends if mine took me here on Wednesday, as they rated place & the food very highly. I was really looking forward to it after all the praise. Took ages to get served, the tables were dirty with bird droppings and sticky with other substances, and you could see that it had not been wiped properly, the tables/ chairs are broken in places planks of wood added , but not done properly . I decided on a quarter pounder and chips, mates had sausage egg & chips, the burger was ok-ish but the chips looked like they had been cooked over and over again, very over cooked well done and very greasy they all got left on the plate. Mates fried egg was hard not like a normal fried egg with a runny yolk. Sausage was just about edible he said . Other mate had cake which wasn't too bad. Wished I'd taken photos of the food, but it was very hot and we were getting frustrated with seagulls, trying to get food, we understand there is no controlling them. We were waited on by a young man, who bought us the sauces, and cutlery etc, he was very helpful and polite. But unfortunately, we won't be returning ...
Read moreGreat location, right on the seafront of Holland on Sea. They don't have toilets 🚻 but there are some public toilets around 150m away. The cafe was very busy when we went at lunchtime but given its summer holidays & the weather was good it's to be expected. There is a good selection of food to choose from & they also serve alcohol. There is also a separate counter for ice creams. All the tables are outside but there are a few under a gazebo. We didn't wait too long for food but you have a lovely view while waiting. Hubby has day breakfast that was £6.45 which consisted of sausages, egg, bacon, toast and a choice of beans or tomatoes. I think for the price it should've included both. I had ham, egg & chips with a choice of peas or beans. The ham was a bit disappointing as not thick carvery type ham that you usually get when you have this meal. The chips were very tasty and the egg was cooked how I like it with a runny yolk. We would definitely visit again as they had a lovely selection of hand made cakes which we didn't try today which included a GF option. There are also options for...
Read moreVisiting the area, we saw this on our night walk and was determined to visit the next day. (Weds 4th Sept 24)
Popular, there were customers who were waiting for it to open.
Ordered jacket potatoes and drinks with a sausage for the dog 🐕
I really loved this little business and the staff who were on worked like little troopers despite growing demand for their services.
Portion size and taste was superb and I loved the cherry bomb coffee (may not be to everyone's taste) I really wanted the cheesy chips after seeing these but a no no on slimming world (not that it stopped some sĥhh)
Easy to find from the road with the flag and the sign and plenty of parking (was sept though)
Spoke to some regular customers who spoke well of the place as they chomped down on the cheesecake.
Lovely views of the bays and watched sailing boats.
Would happily recommend and hope to visit the area again.
A note to the owner.... the cutlery had stickers on.. I thought this was very different, unique and a really...
