G&T's — Restaurant in Tendring

I'm sorry to say we had a bad experience here. We got shown to a table and brought menus; it then took ages for someone to take our order and for 2 of us to go and chase someone up. Another couple had the same experience. We then had a couple of staff come out to double check our orders and the couple behind! It took nearly 30 minutes for our food to come out, a wrap and a baguette. The couple behind left and did swear in frustration at a member of staff (which upset him and was unnecessary).

However I can understand why it upset the team member, but the frustration felt by the customer has to be understood.

In fact quite a few potential customers left and in this difficult time for independent businesses, this surprises me that no-one seemed to care about how the customers feel. The customers need to be looked after and the staff need to be trained and prepared for a busy Saturday afternoon especially as schools break up soon. The welfare of the staff also has to be a priority.

We finally got our average food and asked for the bill which was the wrong one!

I am hoping that this is a one off and that the kitchen is sorted out. There was a large group to cater for but this shouldn't mean that other customers are left to wait for ages. I don't think I'll visit again but hope others have a...

I went here for bottomless bubbles event which was on Saturday 27th august to celebrate my friend completing her degree after 4 years and us all catching up with one friend visiting from Nottingham. The food was Devine and my friend said that the scotch egg was out of this world and that the cheesecake was the best dessert she has ever had and that when she visits again she needs to come back. I had ham gruyer and it was amazing so full of flavour and very generous portion and the roast potatoes were perfect!! Beautifully crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The bottomless bubbles was definitely bottomless as the waitresses never let your glass become empty. They were very attentive and friendly. The owner even went round every table to see how they were finding the food and if they needed anything. Amazing atmosphere a real good time. Perfect if you want to celebrate or catch up. Visited about 3pm one weekday. Seating available. Waitress looked flustered and was rushing around. Told her to slow down ! Told there was a 20 min delay in food. Ordered quiche , fries and salad Requested the salad dressing be put on the side and two glasses of water with our meal and drinks. The salad came dressed. The fries were dry and overdone and the water didn't materialise until we asked again. There was background music playing which all of the sudden stopped playing and someone arrived and was seated and was then told there would be no more food served from the kitchen, only drinks.
