The Tavern — Restaurant in Tendring

Worst ever place went here had a few drinks played the machines no one said to me its members only to play the machine let me pump loads of money through when I went to claim my ticket after chucking double through the machine I was told I can't claim it as its for members only the lady behind the bar said I would have to become a member ohh great no big deal so I pay the £5 membership she than states that I still can't have my money as I have to wait for the membership to be accented after all this I just pay a member of the club to collect my money for me but what makes this worse I was meant to get membership through the post after paying them £5 and guess what received nothing so not only I'm down on the machines a few hundred I'm also a further £15 on paying a member to collect my money and becoming a member what a joke of a place absolutely disgusting its not like I went in their and won instantly they had plenty of time to come up to me and let me know its for members only makes me realy angry wouldn't even want to become a member now anyways Ive been to pot black and to youngs and all I can say their much...

Super-Welcoming Eatery/Drinkery...

I used to visit this place on a regular basis, back when I was living in this part of the country. Having been here a couple of times now when I've been in town, I have to say that the Tavern still scores full marks on so many fronts.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Drinks are priced fairly, and the food is of good quality, and the atmosphere is unfailingly welcoming.

The Tavern really does score full marks across the board.

Been here before for a lovely Sunday carvery, went to go back the other Sunday again arrived at 3.50 & got refused entry for a meal wen they don't stop serving till 4.00 ocl we was not happy cos we left it too the last 10mins to avoid queuing for ages I fink the girls on the door of the restaurant make there own rules don't like them ..ur better of going to martella they don't restrict there times...
