Who isn't at least slightly weary of so-called services along our highways? Functional, yes, but often repetitious, uninteresting clusters of concrete and plastic, offering the same dull experience, arid and nurture-less.
Well, for those facing the seemingly marathon drive to Devon and beyond on the A303... a very annoying attempt by planners to cause endless frustration to travellers from switch after switch between dual carriageway and narrow arterial flow - if you're moving at all... There's a great alternative at Cholderton.
Get off the main road - a relief in itself - by less than a mile, and you might enjoy a much more civilised and refreshing comfort break in the very friendly atmosphere of this working farm tea shop, and more relaxed, personal service too.
