Friendly organized staff as ever and always a good atmosphere throughout the evening. A little loud at times, but only to be expected from what can only be described as one of the most popular restaurants in Tonbridge.
Great food and it's good to see they have changed their mangal menu from my previous visit which helps you save a bit of money as they now let you have just the one side rather than the two and excellent in-house sauces as standard.
Only disappointment is the desert. Very little to be excited about (always previously had the Ayla) and having gone for the 'Chocolate - chocolate brownie chunks, topped with a dark Belgian chocolate sorbet, topped with a rich chocolate sauce' the waiter indeed told me it was frozen (what sorbet isn't?), but only to be brought a kilner jar which had just been removed from the freezer with the entire desert frozen (brownie and sauce on top too). It took a while to chisel through the desert and didn't warranty the price let alone a spot on the menu for something which can just be bunged in a freezer.
Overall a great friendly experience with fantastic food as always only let down a touch by something a small desert menu shuffle could...
Read moreHavet in Tonbridge is near the very top of my 'go to' options for lunch or dinner. I had lunch in there on Wednesday 13th November 2018, and it was again an excellent meal. I'm not an aficionado on Turkish cooking, but the taste is delicious. The service is courteous and seems to match the cooking! If you haven't tried Turkish I recommend this place to get you started. It can get very busy at peak times. Please note the food is NOT outstandingly skillful cuisine, so don't expect any high level Michelin standards, or snobby attitudes. What you get is good food that is very tasty, clean and healthy, for a reasonable price (I had one of the £9.95 main meal selections that comes with free side dish). So for a tenner you get a good meal. I would take issue with a few reviews, because there can be a 20 minute wait for your food to arrive. This has happened to me a couple of times in the last month or so, and I assume it is because they are cooking the food fresh upon order, without any short cuts. I certainly am prepared to wait for 15 or 20 minutes for food this tasty. Well done, Havet. I haven't tried the takeaway yet, but am planning on doing this in the next...
Read moreBE AWARE OF FOOD DELIVERY Always enjoyed eating in Havet so we decided to try a takeaway for a friend's birthday ordered through Uber...Never again took much longer than we were told, the food arrived very late and on the back seat of a car (Not in a container just loose bags) the man was lost we had to find him then he spoke no English so he was unable to call me to find out where we were. The food was stone cold. This was a big order for 9 people. Unfortunately most of the food was unappetising due to being cold and most of the ribs were inedible as they were fatty with very little meat, but apparently this is normal for Havet this was their reply to it ...it is not uncommon that for the lamb ribs to be fatty, this is quiet a fatty cut of meat. (Had I been served these in the restaurant I would if sent them back.) Be aware you pay Uber so Havet are not interested (I called them immediately) finally after many conversations with Ub er they refunded £50 . I did not feel this was enough as most of it went in the bin. I am not prepared to waste anymore time on them so I have to accept it. I just wanted to make...
