Quarry Bank Inn — Restaurant in Trafford

It was a nice day, we sat outside on a table furthest away from the others. The food was nice enough and we enjoyed a lovely couple hours with the pleasant bowling green view. What I didn't like was... the table was really mucky,but we just cleaned it ourselves. Moreover, I hate all the smokers with their smoke wafting everywhere. I really wish pubs and eateries would do more to tackle this. Non smokers like the opportunity to sit outside too. I really don't agree with smoking being allowed in ANY eating/drinking areas unless it's clearly segregated with no cross over, to give people the choice. I'd only just come out of hospital too, so the smoke was really irritating me after a general anaesthetic. But my friend wanted to sit outside as she'd been cooped up at work for a long shift, so I went along with it, but I knew smoke would annoy us. So, if you don't mind breathing in others' smoke, are a smoker yourself, or lucky enough to sit outside when nobody is smoking, I'd recommend this pub. I did not go inside other than to use the toilet and even then had to go past a chain smoker who stood not far from the entrance. The sooner smoking is banned on public...

Not a bad pub. The pub was fairly busy and the choice of drink was very good. There are plenty of seating areas inside and out depending on the weather. The staff are very particular about the Covid regulations and try to be fully compliant. There are various TVs with different sports to view if required and different entertainment on during the week. There is disabled access etc and parking nearby if required. The only downside for me was that few of the customers were wear face coverings. I do appreciate that England do not have mandatory face covering, however, I'd have thought each individual would like to keep the dreaded Covid at bay. Nevertheless it is...

This is a pleasant and comfortable pub/restaurant and deservedly popular. The decor is attractive in an unobtrusive way and the food is good, with enough choice for a variety of palates. The staff are friendly and helpful although on the day we went there did not seem to be that many around. Perhaps because of this service seemed rather slow and it was an hour before our main courses arrived. In fairness however we were a party of 10 and did not have a starter so it wasn't the simplest of orders. The food arrived piping hot and was both tasty and well presented. The bill was pretty reasonable considering the number in the party. I would be very happy to go...
