Went to the Buck with my friend last friday for lunch and can honestly say it was the worst pub lunch we've ever had in our life. We ordered a cottage pie and their special of beef stew, when it arrived the new potatoes served with the pie were rock hard (like they had never been cooked) and the stew tasted like the chef had dropped a box of pepper in it, it was that peppery it actually burnt your tongue (and my friend eats a lot of spicey food) if this wasnt bad enough the meat was awful, there were some chunks of meat and some thin slices but all of it was fatty with no flavour (it's like the chef had thrown in all the offcuts off any meat in the kitchen. As for the cottage pie, we struggled to find any meat! It was literally 90% potato with a tiny bit of mince at the bottom and had no flavour at all! I wanted to send it all back but my friend felt bad (I've no idea why because it wasn't edible) so we just sent the stew and the rock hard potatoes back and asked if we could pick something different. Im assuming it was the manager that came to our table and said very rudely well no-one else has had a problem with the food (which i found very hard to believe) he asked what we wanted instead so we chose the lasagne, big mistake, we both only had a mouthfull each as it tasted vile, like the meat was off, and unfortunately this was proven as both myself and my friend had a bad stomach the next day. I should have known something wasnt right when there wasnt a single other person eating on a friday lunchtime. I wouldn't step foot in this pub again if...

One of the best additions has to be the new park area, which is a brilliant touch for families with children. It gives the little ones a space to enjoy themselves while parents can relax nearby. The food is top-notch, with a great selection of pub classics and family favourites. Even better, the children’s meals are very reasonably priced, which is always a plus for families eating out.
They recently celebrated their 1-year anniversary with Buckfest—a fantastic, family-focused music festival. With live bands, games, and activities for all ages, it was a real highlight and showed just how much thought and effort the team puts into bringing the community together.
All in all, The Buck Inn has become more than just a pub—it’s a place where families can come together, enjoy good food, great entertainment, and a genuinely friendly vibe. Highly...
Read moreWeird experience. Went in on a Sunday night to do the quiz and have a bit of a laugh. Got a round in and cracked on. Did pretty well. Which seemed to really annoy the locals. Came in second and won a little £5 tab which we didn't really want to use so we gave it to another team. Bloke chucked it on the floor and got really angry about us not buying enough drinks, clearly drunk and whatever else. We'd had a couple each but were driving (and breast feeding a baby when we got home) so hence just a couple. The guy and his mates ended up shouting across the place in rage. One lady who worked there was really nice to be fair but the other fella seemed to know the lads and was just laughing along with it. Obviously we felt quite intimidated and ended up leaving. Just a mad situation. I guess it's a local bar for local people....
