When you witness great care of a team from a manager, it's well worth shouting about. On todays visit to The Old Plough, it happened to be 31° c the hottest day of the year so far. I watched and listened as Emma took her time to make the decision to close the kitchen to protect her kitchen staff from sweltering temperatures. Check in with her bar staff to ensure they were staying hydrated and remind them of the much needed ice lollies she had made available to keep the whole team cool. Wow what a great leader showing so much care for her team. Luckily i was able to order food before the closing of the kitchen and my fish and chips was delicious. Read moreWe popped into the plough after our meal at a local restaurant one Saturday evening. It was absolutely rammed already by 730pm. It was very noisy, and very few seats downstairs, a bit of a pain to get served due to only having 2 servers. Atmosphere was happy enough inside, lots of locals who are always the noisiest. Didn't sample any food. Drinks were fine, nothing to shout about positively. The first pint wasn't particularly cold and had way too much head, not worth the que again to moan! Quite pricey.
