Read moreDecided to go out for some late lunch early dinner after some retail therapy, found the Robin hood pub, all looked good from the outside, place looks little run down inside, staff couldn't have been more than 18 years old, placed our order at the bar and waited for the food to arrive. My wife's nachos turned up with hair in it and barely warm with fake cheese, more like cheese sauce than grated cheese, was sent back to the kitchen, we hadn't even finished our starters and our mains turned up, talk about being rushed. My wife's sweet potato fries looked as though they had been cooked for days and were just warmed up, my sizzling steak and chicken wings came out but all the peppers and onions were cremated to the sizzle plate, chicken wings tasted funny, my wife's steak had a funny taste to it. My burger bun was burnt and the steak was over cooked well over cooked. Food was left as didnt fancy eating any more, not more than an a couple of hours after being home we both came down with a constant trip to the loo, this was the only thing we had on the day so only led to one conclusion. Do not recommend thus place, needs a full inspection from the hu guy horse chain management and the environmental group as im sure the food hygiene level is well below par and get some propper chefs in there who can cook. Still suffering this morning cheers Robin hood pub way to ruin...
Read moreOh dear. Rang and booked table - but no record of booking upon arrival. Lady taking order, whilst very friendly, didn't really know the menu so ordering was a little painful to say the least. Time from ordering the food to our starters arriving (party of 14) was just under an hour - not good! Starters were OK, presentable, and mostly tasty. Mains were a very different issue. A few complained that their food seemed under-cooked, some suggested it seemed over-cooked. The fish was tough and chewy. Sausages only cooked one one side (I took some uneaten ones home for my dog, and when I cut them up they still seems a little raw in the middle, only having one side that had any signs, i.e. black, that it had been cooked). My chicken was good, but others weren't so impressed. Deserts were also a mixed bag. The ice-cream was heavily laden with ice crystals, usually implying a melting and re-freeze has occurred. The Gin & Berry desert had no taste of gin, and was very dry, and mostly hard. Shame as the premises were pleasant and the waiting staff seemed friendly - although we were never asked if "everything was ok" after the food had been served. One member of the party uncharacteristically felt grieved enough to complain after the meal. If it hadn't been for the fact we paid up front, I would have been negotiating some compensation. Sadly, we won't...
