I’ve walked into Al Talif without great expectations and I actually had an amazing food and cultural experience. I wanted to go off-the-beaten track and trying something different from the normal Indian cuisine dishes. I’ve ordered a Lamb Shaktora with garlic naan, which is a traditional dish from Bangladesh. The food was incredibly rich, spicy but very well balanced with the bitterness of the citrus after taste. The place is very cozy and staff very welcoming and happy to share a talk with you. Define my worth to stop by and dip into the Bangladeshi cuisine.

We ordered lamb naga, chicken jalfrezi, king prawn biryani and tarka daal, the flavours were delicious, spot on, however the meat, chicken and prawns portion was so little, hardly anything and not enough as we paid alot. The meat was hard, the best was the tarka dhaal and chicken jalfrezi. Biryani was nice but not the best. No salad, no poppadoms, expensive meal but it was OK.

Went in thinking it looks a bit too new, but really pleasantly surprised! Food was succulent and tastey. Lamb madras, spicy but won't make you ill! Staff friendly and want you to enjoy yourself. Woukd highly recommended for take away and sitting in for a quiet night!

Delicious food and great service. We ordered a takeaway from AL-TAIF as we’ve recently moved to Kennington and wanted to check out the local takeaway restaurants. The service was great from the start - easy to order online. Prices seemed a little too cheap to be honest - cannot believe the value for money! We phoned to confirm delivery and they said they’d call us back when it was about 5 mins away (which they did) so that we could walk over to collect. Friendly staff, used our name which added to the personal feel, and the food wasn’t sat in a bag waiting when we arrived - they asked the kitchen to prepare it in a bag from the hot plates which meant it was still very hot when we got home. We had onion bhajis, pilau rice, saag aloo, peshwari naan, lamb passanda, and lamb rogan Josh. All the food was excellent with delicious meat and vegetables in the curries. The naan was packed with flavour. Nothing was greasy or over-salted. Some of the best Bangladeshi/South Asian food we’ve had in a long time, and nice to support a local business - particularly right now. Highly recommended and we will be going back for dine-in once...

The plainest curry we have ever eaten.

The fact that there was no one in the restaurant and no one else collecting any food in the middle of a Friday evening should have been a sign. The place had no atmospheres for if dining in, but thankfully we had preordered to collect.

This is the first time that we have ordered from here, and we were hopeful it was going to be a good first impression. Reviews on here highlight portion sizes being good, but we were given tiny portions of rice and curries with hardly any meat or vegetables, but a lot of tasteless sauce.

Very dissapointed by our visit and definitely not value for money.

Was left wanting more and regretting having not travelled a bit further and eating from a takeaway...

Would be 5 star but when it came to paying the prices were all wrong. The menu they had given us was likely an old one lost in the pile but they didn’t accept that and on top they also added a service charge without asking/without it saying on menu

Unsurprisingly as we were already being over charged on the food prices we asked for it to be removed “But as always add it” was the reply So? Who cares? It doesn’t say you will include it anywhere. The service was poor (Waitress was clearly not in a good mood) and you’ve over charged us for the food!

We had 2 menus that were both the cheaper price given to us when ordering then a more expensive one when paying. What are...
