Outraged at our 1st Tesco Cafe experience here this morning. For the 1st time we decided to have a drink before our main shop. After a long while waiting in the queue as there was only one person taking orders, and he was also serving drinks, we finally were able to order our advertised melting santa hot chocolates.... only to be told they have no melting santa's but could replace these with sprinkles and cream to which we agreed. After paying i realised that we were charged over £2 more for the drink as advertised on the menu board.... the server had charged us extra for the cream and sprinkles and not offered them as a replacement as he said he would. On advising on this, he said he could only refund the whole order, so went to get the supervisor to do this... once refunded and supervisor asked if we would like to re-order, yes we'll have just 2 x normal hot chocolates... only to be advised they had no hot chocolate at all!! So to recap - we ordered 2 x hot chocolates with melting santas. Was told they had no melting santas, but could replace with cream and sprinkles. Paid. Yet they didn't have any hot chocolate at all - plain or otherwise!
When i said i would like to make a complaint the supervisor said she was the only one in, so i said i will complain in the store - to which she said the store is nothing to do with the cafe. This turned out to be a lie, as i went to the customer service desk in the store and they advised otherwise. Read moreSticky tables, coffee stains, crockery and cutlery is questionable with regard to being actually clean. Let alone polished. Staff seem uninterested and avoid even the most basic of courtesies.
The latte I had was lukewarm at best and after 35 mins waiting for a fried breakfast for just myself I had lost hope for the quality of the food itself. With 22 people sat when i arrived it wasn't exactly busy either.
When I was finally acknowledged by a member of staff she then went to find out what was going on with my food. I was offered a free drink immediately and the told my food would be 5 minutes. I did not want another drink. And at this point the staff attitude to me had changed as they could see this wasn't a great situation for all parties to be in.
After 50 minutes waiting for my food I had to leave so I was given a full refund for the breakfast I couldn't eat, I was treated fairly and professionally at this point but it's a real shame we got to this point.
Clean tables, crockery and cutlery with staff a little more attentive and focused to good customer satisfaction would really go long way to improving this cafe. Ofcourse a kitchen getting the food out in a timely...
Read moreI'm in your cafe here. The lady before us found a mouldy scone, my hubby picked a pre packed pannini up to find a fly Inside the packaging. It put him off eating. My dad and me ordered fish and chips.... Waiting. In the meantime I asked for the table to be cleaned, and it's a good job I held his cake high and away from the table as I coukd see that she was about to SPRAY THE TABLE!!!!!! Spray the cloth not the table health & hygiene!! Anyway yo top it off the counter staff were Clueless as to what lactose free milk was. Training please🙄 She did spray the table.... Too late. Fish and chips arrived... Peas to follow 😒 Finished meal... No peas...
