Our dining experience at The Viceroy was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked in, my husband, son, and I were welcomed with warm hospitality that made us feel immediately at ease. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy charm and refined elegance, ideal for a memorable family night out or a special occasion.
The menu at The Viceroy is both expansive and carefully curated, featuring a range of authentic Indian dishes prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We were impressed by the variety of options, from rich, aromatic curries to lighter vegetarian dishes and flavorful sides, catering beautifully to all our tastes. My husband and I shared the Chef’s Signature Specials and were blown away by the depth of flavor and attention to detail. The balance of spices was impeccable, and each dish had its own unique character. Our son enjoyed his meal just as much, and the staff made sure he was taken care of with age-appropriate recommendations and friendly service.
The service at The Viceroy was top-notch—attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel like honored guests without being intrusive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and even offered a few thoughtful suggestions that turned out to be highlights of our meal.
From start to finish, The Viceroy exceeded our expectations, providing an experience that was both delicious and memorable. We left feeling completely satisfied and eager to return. This place is a true gem, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding Indian...
Read moreWe popped by the other evening to dine in because we haven’t been there for a while except for take-always but was disappointed with the overall experience.
To summarize; the place is looking quite dog eared now and desperately needs some investment. Half the lights weren’t working and the furniture and decor are really dated now. The floor is also very creaky and uneven.
To the food however. Our meals all ‘tasted’ very nice - BUT - wow! … their portions have really shrunk significantly.
An example of this is; I can remember ordering meat samosas as a starter way back when and you used to receive two large triangles of filled filo pastry on a nice bed of salad.
That then changed to three small parcels and that has now been reduced even further to two small parcels, with a small bit of salad on the side as garnish. Very disappointing.
Then came the mains; once again very tasty - But - visually, it looked like a few paltry chunks of chicken swimming in a sauce, served up on a small flat crockery salver.
The prices overall seem to have remained stable, so that might explain the reduced portion sizes. Drinks are quite expensive however.
I can’t see us driving over to dine there again in the...
Read moreCould've turned out to be a very unfortunate incident. Firstly I orded using the numbers on the menu i.e. 1 for an onion bhaji, 2 for a kebab etc. They had no idea what I was talking about. So having the numbers on the menu is just pointless. Secondly, we ordered a delivery only to be told by the driver on the doorstep that he wanted cash or cheque. I rarely carry much but thankfully there was sufficient to pay otherwise they'd have taken everything back, said the driver. Astonishing in this age of apple pay, Google pay and apps. The food was very average. Onion bhaji was hard, the kebab was greasy, the biryrani was overcooked and bland, the naan was suffering from condensation. So instead of a very unfortunate incident we just got an unfortunate one. Won't be bothering with a takeaway...
