Castle Cafe — Restaurant in Wakefield

Sat in the sunshine this morning eating a bacon and sausage sandwich, with a lovely cup of strong tea, The staff are a friendly bunch and the service was spot on. With the views of Wakefield and Sandal Castle to look at, this place is the perfect way to start your day. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. I had wanted to visit Sandal Castle for many years and because my car was being serviced in Wakefield I decided to walk up to the castle to kill time. So glad I did but particularly the Castle Cafe needs special mention as it was a lovely experience. The service, atmosphere and the food was literally superb. It's probably the best hot sandwich I have ever had. Locally sourced produce was clearly evident. Lovely Latte too and water. I waited 35 minutes for a sausage roll. Never came. Keep your £3, and I'll keep the £300 I would have spent over the next year. Won't be coming back. This is the second time in two months that my order hasn't arrived.
