We have been here several times recently and always had good food and service. However last night we ordered a meal for 2 via deliveroo and were quoted 65 minutes before collection. We had a reminder that the food would be available for pick up in 5 minutes time, 60 minutes after placing the order. When we arrived the restaurant was almost full and a large group had just left. There were several people waiting for pick up orders. After about a 10 minute wait we were told our order was just being packed. After 3 other cusomers collected their orders ours arrived 35 minutes after we arrived. The server apologied for the delay and said we have given you 2 popadoms free as if that would in some way compensate for our wasted time sat in the waiting area. The place was busy and the staff were doing their best but if you are swamped with orders let people know a realistic time for collection or stop taking orders. Just be honest with people. We will...
Read moreBeen longing to review this place and here goes. Well just got home from The Ruchee this evening started with onion bhaji my S-I-L had the chicken chat, we shared, there were four onion bhajis beautifully presented, also was the chicken chat. Both dishes were delicious and very tasty. Then we had the Chicken tikka balti masala main, garlic and coriander naan and peas rice. All food presented beautifully again, the main was gorgeous and very tasty absolutely spot on, the naan was light and not stodgy. Perfect rice. Cannot praise the food enough. The refurb is beautiful and very relaxing, the staff very attentive and friendly. Cannot wait to return. We have always eaten here and as much as i liked the past owners and food this meal surpassed any i have previously eaten there befor. Well done to all staff, absolutely beautiful 10 out of 10. ...
Read moreWe have take-outs from Ruchee almost every week ... But recently we've noticed that there are more tomatoes, than meat in the dishes, even Indian dishes that don't normlly have tomatoes as ingredients. We've given Ruchee the benefit of the doubt for quite a while, but this evenings meal was the last straw.. 70% tomatoes and 30% (6 small pieces of chicken in each meal... and more tomatoes than in a farmers greehouse. At £10.90 for a curry, (which really isn't cheap for a restaurant takeaway).. I would expect more chicken in the dish. In the past we could guarantee having some takeaway left over to have the next day, not anymore, barely a meal for one. So disappointing when you spend just short of £50 every time I order for 3 adults. We'll have go back to one of the other Indian restaurants/takeaway in...
