Aahar — Restaurant in Wales

revisited the restaurant again few nights ago just for lazy night out and fancied a curry remembering how nice the food was the last time we've been . we're looking forward for a nice onion bahji for starter and what a disappointment that was. although it was quickly served considering it wasn't that many customers at that time , it was oily and slightly bitter to taste. our mains came and garlic rice is one of them with chunky garlic pieces and oily. the rest of our rice sides are OK. my lamb tika bhuna tasted and looks like a jalfrezi and tasted sweet. ( bhuna is my fave dish and been to many Indian restaurants and this is the first time lamb tika bhuna looks and taste different. Just saying ). another curry dishes is ok but not the best. it seemed that the quality was not the best that night. compare to the other restaurants we've been to with about the same price was such a disappoint. perhaps our eating experience that night was off. but would not be hurrying to go back...

Food s little pricier than normal but good quality. Service pretty lacking as reflected in some of the other comments on here. I arrived fairly early with just one other person inside. Frankly when I asked for a table for one the waiters looked like I had just disturbed his evening. Service was inattentive and unfriendly. The other waiter stood like a statue most of the evening. The food was good it must be said If a little bit more pricey than normal. Possibly a good take out / delivery place but definitely not for a night in . You really need to brush up on your interpersonal skills guys. For example. I'm the last one in the restaurant, I'm heading for the door ( a reasonable walk with plenty of time to react ) , no attempt to converse with " have a good evening " or "thank you " and God forbid they open the door to let you out. Take Away. I’ve dropped off one star as they have a hygiene rating if 3 from the local council. 5 should be readily achievable. Service was friendly and prompt. Items were ready exactly as promised. Lemon rice was tasty, but slightly greasy, so again slight mark down. Chicken Kolapuri, described as hot on the menu was at the low end of medium from my perspective. Sauce was tasty though. The chicken, which appeared to have been cooked on skewers separately, then placed into the sauce was slightly tough, not succulent. Garlic Naan was very tasty. I would use this restaurant again if they can up their hygiene...
