Have never been to beefeater before so thought we'd try today. Ordered from the festive menu, 2 courses. I had the turkey roast, it arrived swimming in gravy. The carrots and roast potatoes burnt my tongue, they were scalding, the turkey and Yorkshire pudding were cold and the parsnips were burnt to a crisp and black, my partner didn't have any parsnips on his plate. It was so bland and reminded me of a school dinner roast, worst food I've ever been served at a restaurant. Then I ordered cheese board, then 15 minutes later told they didn't have it, so ordered profiteroles, the same as my partner. The profiteroles were like dry ice, couldn't cut into them with a spoon, the table next to us were joking about their profiteroles as well, really difficult to eat. During the meal my partner had to get up and find someone for our re-fills, we barely saw staff, they were behind the wall where the food was being served on their phones. Then before I even complained the waiter brought the bill and said I've taken the drinks off, I think they knew as well as us that we had poor service. I then said I don't like to complain but my tongue was burnt by the food on my plate and the other half of the food was cold, he had the cheek to say "well I can't do anything about your food coming out hot" being sarcastic and I said it's good to have warm food but that burnt my mouth and then the dessert must have been mixed with dry ice. Awful food, awful customer service, won't be back again, glad our Christmas day booking...
Read moreWent for family meal on father’s day, whole family planned to have a roast as it was Sunday and FATHERS DAY. Firstly, we got seated and 10 minutes past and nobody even acknowledged us let alone asked if we wanted drinks or if we were ready to order which resulted in us going to bar to order drinks. Man behind the bar was incredibly kind and great service there, cocktails were also very nice. However after we spent £20 on drinks and sat back down, we waited a further 20 minutes and a waitress finally came over. I went to order their nice looking roast and she tells me they ‘don't have any left’ and that we should’ve been told at the door, acting as if we should have known. But they should be expecting more people having roasts on father’s day Sunday so should or ordered more produce. We was left to order food none of us fancied which also came back terrible, burgers were dry, over cooked and did not taste fresh what so ever. The portion sizes are tiny I had about 10 chips on my plate, also the burgers we payed £16 for looked the exact same as the children’s burgers which was a lot cheaper, nobody enjoyed their food and we were left disappointed. Went home and an hour past and we ended up ordering a take away which was a lot nicer than the food from the beefeater. Would not recommend and will...
Read moreWe ordered breaded mushrooms for starters and they were partly frozen, when mentioning it to a waiter he took the plate and walked away with no apology. 5 minutes later I politely asked the waiter what is being done about the frozen breaded mushrooms and he informs me that more are on the way and again no apology given.
The new breaded mushrooms then come out with our main meals, the waiter just places everything on the table without asking who has ordered what.
I then query my double chicken burger meal with a manager due to there only being one chicken breast in the burger, the manager explains how the burger is a “double” due to the extra crunchiness of the breaded chicken (fair enough and I apologise for my misunderstanding) and the manager then pompously closes a menu in front of me and says “so that’s all correct” and walks away without asking if everyone else was ok or asking if he could help with anything else.
It’s a shame to have had this experience today because we have previously eaten in the Swansea Marina Befeater and the staff are so friendly and polite there.
I feel the staff in the Baglan restaurant (including the managers) need some training with communication and customer service as I felt very...
