We arrived early Saturday evening and the restaurant was almost empty, the couple who ordered before us didn't get their food and ended up leaving hungry. It turns out the restaurant was busy with take away orders, fair enough it was a Saturday, but we could have been told wait times when ordering. We suspect we (and the couple who left) had been forgotten about. We waited 45 mins for food but couldn't wait longer as we had a child with us who was hungry and would need to go to bed soon. We therefore requested to take away the food. When we got home we realised they had not included someone's food despite us paying for it. The food which was there wasn't exactly what we ordered either. We should have checked at the restaurant but we were in a hurry due to said child's bedtime. Most of our food was veggie. The vegetables were very overcooked and mushy, the dishes didn't have distinct flavours and most were very insipid. When we ordered we were told all the veggie dishes were vegan despite a lot clearly having paneer in, fair enough perhaps they're not a vegan specialist restaurant but they should know about allergens and I specifically asked about dairy. I normally don't leave negative reviews: if it had been one or two things wrong I would not have bothered to review but the wait time, incorrect order and poor food quality...

Very expensive (twice usual price for Indian food). Everything is very sweet. Having enjoyed Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani food all over the North of England and London, I regret to say that only those who haven't tasted proper food will enjoy. None of the food is as it should be. Meat is cooked and added to very sweet sauces that do not resemble their names. The only reason they are still in business is the lack of competition locally. Which is such a pity, as its a good location and a good sized restaurant. If they did genuine Indian food, they'd be able to charge less because they'd be very busy. We avoid completely. In fact when driving more than half an hour from Bala, we order Indian and bring it home as we miss good Indian food that much! 😕 So if you are the owners reading this - please go back to basics and launch a new menu without the sugary bland sauces. Let us know and we will be there in a shot to...

Wow, expensive would be an understatement even more so considering the portion sizes. We ordered a portion of Onion Bhaji, Mushroom Bhaji, chicken Jalfrazi, pilau rice and a cheese and garlic Nan. Albeit there were 3 they were the 3 smallest Onion Bhajis we have ever seen. The Jalfrazi was a milder sauce than the gravy I make for our Sunday lunch hit with 2 birds eye chilli's that blew our heads off and the cheese and garlic Nan was a Nan, conspicuous in it's lack of either cheese or garlic. All the food was supplied in single use plastic wow really bad. And all for the princely sum of £24. At home the same would be 100% better quality and quantity for less than £15. This place is the only curry take away in Bala and most certainly not one that I could recommend. What I suggest and will certainly be doing in the future is find a better place even if I have to drive for it. Alternatively make it myself I couldn't do...

After reading some reviews I was a little worried about eating here, but we were craving indian and this was the only place in Bala, we entered to an empty restaurant at 5pm, was quickly served by the waiter, and our poppadoms came out a few minutes after, after ordering the food arrived in about 15-20 minutes, visually it looked good, but it also tasted good, the chicken tikka masala was sweet and creamy as it should be, the biriyani was HOT but still tasty, i loved the peshwari naan and keema rice... overall, good experience, friendly staff and great food.

Yeah, just meh. Pretty pricey for a mediocre curry. Good chicken chunks, but not enough flavour in any of the three currys we ordered. Onion rice was good. Sag aloo was better than most. Chicken dhansak was not really hot enough and lacking in flavour, £10 for a take away chicken tikka masala, pretty high for the level of flavour. Im a big fan of Chicken chat, but this one was just ok. Poppadoms were crispy but were a bit too greasy for our family.

Nice little establishment in a cosy welsh village. Food was slightly pricey but more unique flavour and ingedients, and clearly more effort, that includes the cheese and garlic naan which is genuine and fresh. I would say the vindaloo I had could have been spicier, they served all my courses in one go, and there was no dessert. Place is uniquely cash only, and they didn't want a tip for some reason, which technically isnt a bad thing!
