The Goat / Yr Afr — Restaurant in Wales

Myself and a group of friends came last night after we had stumbled upon it during the day, Gavin, the bar tender said he would put bingo on for us. Not only did he recognise us when we came in, but he did bingo and a pub quiz for us. The atmosphere was extremely friendly from all the locals, one chap John even got his guitar out for us and the whole pub had a little sing song. The drinks were extremely reasonable! The pub had an amazing friendly atmosphere with everyone stopping for a chat. We have been to Bala 3 years in a row now, but this is the first time we have been in. For anyone visiting I would highly recommend, I know we will definitely be back each time we visit Bala. Thank you to Gavin and all the friendly locals for having us, we can’t wait to catch up with a drink...

This is by far the friendliest pub I have been in. Myself and my friends visit Bala every year and it's a shame we have only just discovered this establishment as the atmosphere was incomparable. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel so welcome, including the gentleman behind the bar, Gavin, who hosted bingo and a pub quiz despite this not being scheduled for that particular night. Everyone was so accommodating and the prices of the drinks was definitely a bonus. Also a special shout out to John, who played the guitar and we all had a sing along, this made a great night into a fantastic one. Kym and our little Chinese Cresty went into the Goat yesterday and had a coffee.It is a doggy friendly pub and Phil the boss is the ideal host.It is lovely inside ( don't let the exterior put you off) once inside you will be pleasantly surprised we had gone into The Goat for lunch but the chef was off that day but Phil explained that and we would be happy to pop into the pub for lunch when we are in the area again. Try it,especially if you have a four legged friend and it wasn't closed !! as stated on the Google site ,it has been open for 2 years I believe.
