We have dined at this restaurant so many times over the years when it was La Memos . To step into the same standards , then the new owners should be more than ready to deliver a top service to their customers . Very disappointed at our whole experience last night . Sat upstairs , we had to ask a different waitress for two wine glasses to go with our bottle of wine that we ordered . Our starters was fine . I had to send my main course back to the kitchen as it was burnt underneath . Thirteen minutes later my husband had almost come to the end of his meal . I went down to the kitchen to say I did not want my meal as I was not prepared to sit and eat it on my own like my husband had done . The chef/owner spoke to me inappropriately whilst his wife was trying hard to stop him . He kept speaking to me in an aggressive manner infront of two very young waitresses and a restaurant full of diners . He repeatedly kept shouting that he had cooked me a fresh meal . As i walked away he shouted F off to me . I went back upstairs where he proceeded to follow me still shouting at me. He placed the meal infront of me and started shouting that there are children starving and homeless people and that I was ungrateful. He also said he was under staffed , stressed , very busy , new business etc. I placed the meal on the next table to which he removed still shouting at me whilst other diners are looking on at this unprofessional restaurant owners rash behaviour . He absolutely embarrassed himself. We did ask for the bill out of politene but as it was we did not have to pay anything which we both appreciated . I had to apologise to the other diners who were on the next tables to which they replied that it was not us who should be apologising . The lady owner came and spoke to us and offered us an apology to which we accepted . We emphasised that she was not to blame .The chef needs to have customer relationship lessons if he wants to run an established business . We will not be dining here again. Thank you for your reply which is hilarious if I'm honest. I was told on the phone that we were seated upstairs . The waitress was quite happy to leave us go to our seats as they were busy. Not once was I rude to the waitresses . Also , I did not shout once at anyone the only person that did the abusive shouting was the chef . I explained that I did not want the meal and the chef just continually kept shouting that he had cooked the meal fresh , he did this non stop at me .I also asked for the bill and was told that there was no payment to be taken off us . That speaks volumes to me that the service we recieved was not appropriate . The lady owner came to apologise for her husbands behaviour and we were very understanding to her for being put in this position . Also , just to finish we did drink 2 bottles of wine and nothing else for the record . Plus we had no plans on entering your restaurant to cause problems . When leaving the restaurant the young waitress said sorry for tonight . That says it all . The only liar in this conversation is the person or persons who is replying to my review . I have written nothing but the truth and you are aware...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this restaurant many times some years ago, itās was a regular place to eat as the plaster is homemade and feels very authentic, Italian. The food remains wonderful so fresh, hit and tasty and plenty of it. However the service was very disappointing, a young lad bent over the table to serve rather than walk around, he clearly had no training⦠not his fault Iām sure, we sat with empty drinks for so long and it felt as though we couldnāt gain eye contact with any servers. The food came out at different times and my son had finished his meal before the rest of us had any food. My bolognaise had no meat and hardly any sauce, just awful today sorry. My husband ordered rump steak med/ rare and arrived med/ well and looked like it was dragged from the back of the fridge, he sent this back and decided not to eat there and just sat while we ate. However in their defence it was busy as there was a food festival on town that day. I felt a little embarrassed that Iād recommended the place as we had visitors from Australia in our group. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI note that, following a poor review of this restaurant by Joanne Roberts, a few hours later the owners posted three 5 star reviews. Iām not passing any comment about any negative reviews but I am saying that the owner and his staff should not make reviews about their own establishment as they are NOT paying customers. Domenica Perico is the chef/owners mother, Tyrone Rees is the father and Jessica Evans is his wife. I think this is very dishonest and misleading and we will not be eating at this restaurant again. As well as these fake reviews I note that the chef/owner, John Cangelosi, posted a five star review himself just as they opened the restaurant three weeks ago! You should rely on good cooking and good service to create good reviews. I hope that all the other good reviews are not just from friends and family. Just spotted another new 5 star review, this time from William Cangelosiā¦.. who just happens to be the chef / owners brother. I suggest you remove these reviews before I...
