Absolutely awful experience on Friday evening. I visit this restaurant on a regular basis and have introduced many others to it. This evening all i did was advise staff that the lamb was overcooked. Lamb should be pink but this was not even edible, very tough as it took some effort to cut with a knife. I was not rude, I was discreet so other customers would not hear, not that there were many customers. The member of staff became very defensive and raised there voice at me. Both my friend and myself found this to be out of charecter as we have been many times here and always had a friendly conversation with waiting staff. The member of staff argued that the lamb was fine, this was not fine, I know food, I am a trained chef and I even judged this restaurant in the Welsh Curry House of the years awards some years ago. Both myself and my friend were not happy with the almost aggressive response and will not return, this being the same for other friends and family. Considering how very few customers you have had in there you should look after the ones you have. I was not making a big deal out of it and didn't ask for it to be re-cooked, just a friendly comment to let the chef know. The member of staff kept saying its fine, it was roughly 3 minutes over cooked even tried to blame the tikka spices on the outside of the lamb. I ended up leaving part of the meal due to how I had been treated. It was then very clear that this member of staff was telling other staff in view of what very few customers they had, this looked so unprofessional and made us feel very unwelcome. The same staff member cleared the table, we both said thank you but we were ignored. He then brought the hot towels, again we both said thank you, again we were ignored. We then had to call the other member of staff over for the bill as the one who served us was sat down I think having a few minutes to calm down, all because I had said the lamb was overcooked and showed him, he even said we have been serving that all day. Firstly they open at 5 or 5:30 , we booked a table for 7:00 then changed it to 7:30 so how can you serve it all day, during our time in the restaurant i only saw one other order a mixed grill, even if you had served many people that wouldnt matter as each piece of meat is individually cooked, we having shared it, so kind of a silly comment to make by also saying im the only kne to have said anything. Very disappointing, no need at all for such rudeness. He has always been very good both me and the same friend have said that and these comments are 100% accurate and from both of us. The time before we came here water was coming out of the food, he appologised, said im not sure why this has happened, I mentioned possibly because of several cooking process steps, including using frozen ingredients which release moisture when cooked, excessive water added during cooking, not saying it was but could have been, this was dealt with. Friday night was completely unnecessary, having trained in the industry and worked in it myself this should gave been handled in a different way, not being defensive for what was so very obvious. We paid the bill, no reduction for what was not eaten, didn't ask but they should have. We won't be returning. Images below taken, not relating to the food but proof i attended as they restaurant will notice the background to the table in the far right by the wall.

I guess that’s why they call it the (Bombay) Blue(s?)! The menu here is a joy to peruse - written with style and panache, it’s clear the author has a bit of personality! We always have a smile on our faces reading the descriptions. In the current climate of clinical and corporate menus it’s refreshing to read one that brightens up the often tedious ordering process. After analysing the menu we came to a matching consensus - we weren’t in the mood for messing around with poppadoms. We were going straight for the jugular. I opted for a Chicken Tikka Garlic Chilli Masala. Rice & Chips. Peshwari Naan. Cobra. The curry was flavourful although I expected a tad more spice. Nothing to write home about, but a very nice, solid ruby. I’ve had Madras and Vindaloos here in the past and they were right on the money. A game changing feature to highlight at this curry house is the option to order a portion of rice AND chips half and half. This totally eliminates the awkwardness of having to share portions with the rest of the table. More curry houses should implement this innovative idea, so kudos to the pioneers at Bombay Blue(s?)! The peshwari naan was delicate and moreish. Hats off to whoever was manning the tandoor! The cobra was ice cold. My fellow comrades went for the Jalfrezi, Murgh-E-Bahar and Korai. All polished off with zero complaints. This establishment isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel - which is a good thing. It offers consistency, value for money and good service - which is why we frequent it on a semi regular basis! I’ll conclude with a question for the ages - is it Bombay Blue or Bombay Blues? Either way, we’ll return to discover the answer!

The wife and I decided to have an evening out together, and so planned another great meal at Bombay Blue. The food was totally amazing, the services couldn't be faulted and polite. Looking forward to the next visit. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience.

Coming back to this review after months to change it from a 4* to a 1* as its the lowest I'm able to give. While walking into the restaurant the kitchen is downstairs where the back door was open, As my wife walked past the waiter(in a shirt & black tracksuit bottoms) popped his head out the door & made a remark at my wife not knowing she understands his language. My wife was so angry and once we had got inside I brought this to the attention of the chubby guy who I believe is the "boss", he pretended he doesn't understand the language(bangladeshi) the poor sod & he will have a word with the waiter instead he went over to him & started smirking. I was completely in shock there was no sense of apology or empathy towards how his customers should be treated by staff or himself. This restaurant definitely needs to be kept a close eye on due to the lack of respect they have towards females. We also expierenced a woman sat alone drinking herself under the table behind us!! trying to join 2 men having dinner who clearly didn't want to know. She had no food at the table just a wine bottle & glass but this place has a favourite sentence even when your glasses are full "do you want another drink". They must of asked us 9-10 times during our meal. Clearly the chubby guy who is running the restaurant should take responsibility if somebody is drunk already & they've come in alone they can barely stand without disturbing other tables giving them a large bottle of wine isn't going to end well. The entire restaurant was turning to see if she's OK, But I guess the sleezy staff didnt mind this too much & turned a blind eye to it. I really do hope she...
