Omgosh, what can i say about our 1 first time visit here today!! Fabulous food, i love, love, love fine dining. A few places that I have been too in the past fall short a little of their claim to be fine dining...not this place. Every single mouthfull was 😋😋😋. We both had a 3 course normally we stuggle to get to a 3 course but everything tasted so light and delish it was easy. I wish i had thought of taking photos of the food we ordered as every course looked sooo 😍. For starters i had meatballs with a lovely unexpected spice to the tomato sauce. My companion had creamy mushrooms with chorizo. For mains i had cod with a cockle and laverbread creamy sauce, oh my gosh 😲🥰!!! The other main was chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce this was a double wow, will definitely be ordering that on my next visit. We both had a little taste of each others food on each course and we both enjoyed every single mouthful. The veg that came with both was the most beautifully cooked, and al dente 🤩. Neither of us are fans of parsnip and wasnt going to even try it but so glad we did...I dont know what the chef did with it but nothing like the ikki taste of parsnip absolutely amazing. Also came with carrots and peas and crushed potatoes again not sure what the cheff did with the potatoes u woul have to try them to know what i mean 😋🤗, i should have asked dont supose i would have been told tho secrets secrets of the chef i supose 🤔🤫😁. The deserts were a mango cheescake and dark cherry cheescake both were super light and flufffy came with a slight toffee flavoured Chantilly cream, and a fruit coulis. Lovely and friendly service and couldnt do enough for us. We will definitely be going back to this fabulous restaurant, a new regular i think...well we are going to have to eat our way thro the menu until we have tried everythig 😂. Well done to the lady that served us and to this fabulously tallented chef. If you're a foodie and like gorgeous food you really need to try this gem u will not be disappointed. Look on their website and check out the...

This place is advertising for staff via a sign in the window, so I phoned. I was told there were "no vacancies". A week later the sign was still present, so I called in, as stated on the sign. I was told "No, not you". I was told very rudely, "I want a young person. Someone who can run up and downstairs." I replied that I can run up and downstairs as easily and as often as anybody can. I was then very rudely ejected from the shop, being told to "Get out of my shop!"

I had been perfectly polite throughout but the shop girl was extremely rude. I am not a young person but a very fit and active person. This was blatant age discrimination. I have photos of the shop and the sign in the window to prove my case and intend on taking this further. The shop owners are rude and unpleasant and have no manners.

Avoid this joint like the plague - if they can insult me, they can insult you too. Watch out for...

Very high potential!

Fantastic food. I would say that the filet steak I had here was the best I’ve ever eaten out in the UK. I also ordered a peppercorn sauce side which was a good volume, which is a nice change from places that provide hardly anything. It was a little pricey, yet when the food is as astounding in quality as it was, this seems justified.

Service was fairly quick and friendly. The only thing that let this place down was its slight lack in atmosphere, the decor was great, but there wasn’t many people there sadly.

I live quite locally so my advice would be to advertise the place better with posters or through modern day techniques like on Facebook through Loughor and Gorseinon residents. Perhaps combine this with more food deals or events like live music and quizzes?

Hope this place has great success in the future and that the owners see...

Been wanting to eat here for a while & im glad I did. Callatis is a superb venue which is run by husband & wife team who both have a wealth of knowledge in the catering/hospitality industry. The service was brilliant & friendly, the food was superb & I can’t wait to return, great value set lunch menu with all homemade food & fresh ingredients used. Very lucky to have this within a 10 minute drive of where I live & will most certainly be eating here more often for lunch

Firstly, I’m pleased to say this was my second return and it was amazing. The atmosphere here always feels so homely and intimate, it makes you feel comfortable. Secondly, the food both times has been incredibly delicious and high-quality, it’s like comfort food but elevated. Thirdly, the staff here are so attentive and make every guest feel special. It’s safe to say I will be returning again and again.

Good cafe and worth a try. The restaurant was clean and the food was pretty good. My friends egg was over cooked on the bottom and my omelet was not as big as I'm used to which stopped me giving it a 5* but still nice. The service was quick however it wasn't busy when I was there. Has a nice outdoor seating area which is undercover so protected from the rain.
