Good points - good table availability upon arrival on Monday 17th June. Clean and tidy. Good choice on the menu. Food was cooked speedily and very well. Food was delicious! Thick bacon, yummy sausages, fresh bread... So good! (2 breakfast baguettes and a full English). Portions were a very good size. Very nice tasting coffee and the latte was perfect, not too milky and didn't need an extra shot like some other places. Prices reflected the good quality of the food too! A large choice of cakes which look fantastic, but I didn't try any. The slate decorations were nice and the photography on sale gave a nice touch of local scenery.

Points to improve on (personal opinion) - Paying 80p extra for alternative milk is an injustice to those with lactose intolerance and vegans alike. A litre of oat milk in the supermarket is £1.50 so 80p for a small tot makes a cuppa quite pricey indeed! Most cafés nowadays don't charge extea for alternative milks. There is no offer of a free cuppa with a breakfast, unlike some other very good cafes in Swansea county, they're all additional at Cariad. The chairs are hard and upright, uncomfortable for those with back/hip issues. Had to ask 3 times for a glass of tap water, it had been forgotten twice. I like mushrooms a lot, but there was a very large portion of them in my baguette which may put...

Average breakfast, good coffee, poor service. Cariad cafe is always packed, although half the seats are taken up by the elderly (people my age) with a thimbleful of coffee / tea left in their cup which lasts them hours, while others stand around waiting for a table to free up. The breakfast offering lacks the essential ingredient: black pudding and as is usually the case these days, the egg isn't placed on the toast, but as a centre piece covering the beans, hash brown, bacon and the execrable mushrooms. The bacon is good, very good in fact - thickly sliced and tasty, but this is amply offset by the soggy hashbrown, watery, tasteless mushrooms and bready sausage. Happily, the coffee is really good though. The service can best be described as "grudging", almost as if I should be showing a bit more gratitude for them taking my money. At twelve quid for two coffees, a breakfast baguette and an entry-level brekky, it's not extortionate, but not particularly good value...

We went to Cariad Cafe on Monday and we were really pleased. We used to come regularly when the previous owners still had it but haven't really had the chance since it changed hands. I would like to say that the atmosphere was lovely and I love the interior. The waitress who served us was lovely. She made sure the order was correct, there were no errors at all with any changes we asked for. She even brought my young daughter a straw completely unprompted. Staff that do little things really make a good business. The breakfast was delicious. Really good ingredients and well cooked. I felt that for the quality and service you get it was well priced. My sister came with me for the first time and was also impressed and would come again (she only goes to the best,ha). Really enjoyable time and even better that the park across the road has been done up and is fab for...

Popped in for breakfast, food was good especially the Welsh breakfast with cockles and lava bread. The table was a bit of a squeeze, there were 4 of us crowded around a very small table but apart from that it was a pleasant experience.
