Costa Drive Thru — Restaurant in Wales

I have been coming to this Costa since it opened. Previously have been satisfied with service and atmosphere ... I have however attended recently and the attitude of one of the Barristas was shocking. I stood in line to place my order which was taken by another member of staff. Whilst waiting for my order I noticed that the Barrista was being abrupt to the gentleman before me, anyway he got his order and left the serving area. The Barrista then asked if I wanted marshmallows and cream with my order which I kindly declined, whereupon she turned to a male colleague and said something which in turn made him turn to look at me. She then turned to another colleague and sarcastically said 'it takes as long as it takes' ... I am not sure what the 'trigger' for the attitude was, however I was told by another member of staff later that 'they are very busy'. I am not sure that is justification enough for the attitude from the staff member. Absolutely appalling. Costa is a franchise and I have supported locally from the start but rest assured I will never step foot in this branch again. Stay away if you want great...

My honest option on entering and looking for a seat there was not a clean table that was not occupied. No one was about cleaning off the table for the next client. I approached the counter and asked if the muffin were fresh or not . It was Liam who served me and asked why?? I replied to say that if they been there over night the lights dry them out ! On which he headphones a colleague to ask . The had been there since last night !! He said the muffins would be probably dry! Another lady with a big smile came through and offered us fresh ones ( Amber) what a lovely lady ! We ordered small latte coffee when we sat down it tasted like boiled milk . My husband took them back and replied that small latte only have one shot so we need to ask for two?? I have never encountered that before . We got a big Cheerios from staff as we left . Horrendous customer service, requested a little extra cold milk in my hot drink to bring it down to drinking temperature, and was told no. I’d have to buy a whole cup of milk to add onto the already purchased drink in order to make it 140•c to not burn my mouth. Paid the £1.50 for extra milk and asked can he just top up the purchased hot drink and was told no. Stated that I would have to have it in another cup to pour myself and then dispose of myself. Where is the extra mile, to make customer experience a happy one ? Clearly unprofessional, this has never been the stance of the brand before. Staff have always been kind and helpful, I didn’t begrudge paying the extra but the sheer incompetence and disregard to help has left a sour taste.
