Rooms are clean and modern. Staff are also barstaff which can be frustrating if you show up later in the day when the pub is absolutely throbbing. Standing in a crowded bar with your suitcases, waiting to get noticed is not ideal. Anyway, not to much noise from downstairs and the room was clean and comfortable, and we got a lovely view of the harbour. Wifi was of the dodgy, asking for personal information variety, so we declined. Maybe something a little more secure for guests? Moving on, let's talk about the pub. This is the rare occasion where a place is both a tourist trap AND a local watering hole, which is pretty cool. There's good pints as well as sugary cocktails. A homey pub as well as a dining area. Currently, the establishment is woefully understaffed (something something brexit...) which leads to some serious wait times for food. The menu is intriguing and the food is pretty good and well plated but an aside to the chef: That was a spongey, pre-made patty in my burger monsieur. For shame! Finally, and maybe I should have led with this, this is a SPECTACULAR spot for a sundowner, sipping a perfect pint or frosty alcoholic slushy (!) while watching the sun set across the water, over the isle...

I had never been to this Inn before, situated on the beach road in Y Felinheli, Gwynedd. There was a welcome when we arrived and we're looked after by Mel and Gruff who were excellent couldn't fault their care and attention. My 5 friends had the roast beef dinner, the plates were full on arrival, we were swamped with beautiful al dente fresh vegetables in bowls, extra gravy and sauces available. Mel checked with "chef ' about my vegetarian on croute optio which had almonds included , sounded lovely but I have a walnut allergy and to me safe "chef" suggested the Glamorgan sausages as it couldn't be guaranteed that the almonds had not been prepared near walnuts. How good was that- just brilliant, my lunch was absolutely delicious and I will be recommending this Inn for Sunday lunch A* to the chef and all his staff colleagues. A* to Mel and Gruff for their care and attention to the six non stop talkers on the 1pm table opposite the kitchen entrance. Diolch o galon /...

Food review. Quiet when we visited but getting busier by the time we left at 1pm. Lovely welcome, and obviously, we were accommodated easily. Other reviews state that it can get busy. It's pretty big inside with large open rooms and an airy, pleasant atmosphere. Limited hand pull beers on offer, but the Robinsons Golden Dragon (Ddraig Aur) was very nice. The wife had a very palatable Gunness. We just had mains, they were very enjoyable. I had the cajun Sea bass burger with chips and coleslaw, I wasn't hopeful that the chef would be able to pull it off, but boy did he/she! beautifully cooked, moist, and tender, the cajun effect was very mild. My good lady had pan-fried chicken with truffle and mushroom sauce, sauted vegetables and all excellent. Great friendly service too. We've been visiting the area for many years now and it's the first time we've visited the Garddfon, it won't be the last!

A very welcoming pub having walked from Menai Bridge along the Menai Strait Coastal Path. Not our expected venue for lunch (which was closed), so we were looking for an alternative, and we were SO pleased that we did. This little gem on the sea front in Y Felinheli is wonderful! A lovely warming fire, lovely clean wooden tables (very often you get that kind of 'stickiness' - but not here) the pub was an unexpected delight. We were welcomed by the staff politely and efficiently. We chose ciabattas from the comprehensive menu, one cod gougons and one steak and onion, which my wife said was up there with the best. Very very tasty with some of the best (curled) chips that we've had for some time. Craft ale was very refreshing and my wife's rose was lovely. We will definitely be back here soon, what a find! Thanks, guys, really enjoyed our visit. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
