After being turned around at half-empty Sarn Park Bridgend restaurant because we did have a booking (why need a booking for half-empty restaurant?), we came to this one and had an awful experience.
Waited for over 10 minutes to get acknowledged and sat down. Young waitress with red hair made a face and rolled eyes, when we requested a booth further away from the salad bar that had children playing and running around. The restaurant was half-empty so I don't understand the problem with that. Then we had to wait for another 15-20 minutes for the orders to be taken. The waitress was working on the section next to us, but kept ignoring us, and instead of taking the order was cleaning the tables, ignoring our attempts of drawing her attention. When we eventually got attention of the young male waiter, it took over 30 minutes for the food to come through (just two mains: superbowl salad with grilled chicken and chicken skewers!). I've watched my salad bowl to sit on the kitchen counter for majority of this time, not under the heated lamp. When the manager, who was solely preoccupied with the delivery screen before, brought over our food, I've noticed that half of my salad ingredients were missing, and the bowl was half empty! Just three leaves, some sauce and grilled chicken on top. Surely the manager should know how this menu item looks like?! I called the manager, and she agreed to replace the order. The replaced salad was stuffed with red chillies, which made it hard to eat! When cleaning the dishes, manager asked whether we would like a dessert or hot drink. I noted, that it would make sense to offer us them complementary after the service we received. She agreed, however we had to decline due to the time restrictions (we already spent here 2 hours only having main dish!). Manager offered to take the drinks off the bill instead. When the bill arrived, to our surprise we notice that only one drink has been taken off! Good customer service provider would at least take both drinks off, and the faulty main as well in the best scenario.
Very disappointed with the poor service and quality of food. We used to love Harvester, it's a shame that the hospitality standards has...
Read moreMy wife ordered churasco chicken skewers. She was given the wrong rice, no sauce, yellow peppers instead of red peppers and hardly any churizo (4 pieces). The waitress asked if everything was ok, She asked for the sauce and asked if the rice was correct, the waitress said the rice was correct but they had run out of sauce. She checked the menu as we are a regular at the Cardiff bay Harvester and She was sure their rice was different. She asked another waitress who confirmed the rice was definitely wrong. The waitress sent the manager who apologised and said she'd give us a discount. She commented that I had eaten the chicken. My wife did not eat the rice and was not offered the correct rice or an alternative. When we were given the bill we asked about the discount, they said they had taken off my refill drink! On closer inspection of the bill at home they have over charged us, billing us for a large bottle of water when we had a small bottle and it would have been nice if they had told my wife that her tea was unlimited as she would have had a refill. She is really disappointed, we go to harvester's around once a fortnight and is the place we choose for family meals. She left tonight hungry! and surprised that we had been charged full price for a meal when they had clearly run out of the essential ingredients. Churasco chicken without churasco sauce! If she can't have the meal she ordered the chef should have communicated this. The waitress made her feel that she shouldn't have eaten the chicken, she should have been either brought the food she ordered or someone should have said that the churasco skewers were all finished. We wrote to the company with their feedback system and we received no answer more...
Read moreWe came here first time and will be our last. On arrival, bar man came to seat us rather than the waiters. A young lady saw us put our hand up but ignore us. Asked the other lady for refills as my mum was thirsty. My mum had to get up to get the glasses as it has been 6-7 minutes after we asked for the glasses the staff were just standing at the time doing nothing. We ordered food , got told only 1 rib eye left, we understand that stock runs out but you’d think harvest branches would have more stock. Salad bar was practically old stock and there was nothing left. We had to complain to the guy direct to refill then he told the waiters they need to keep an eye on the stock. Bread rolls were stale and cold and they ran out and didn’t refill them. Even as I write this 7:40 still not refilled and they ran out at 6:30. Now finally food, all fries were sooo salty. My friend was sat on another table even complained their food was salty. I always finish my food as a foodie, I always get fish and chips from harvest in the bay but oh my god Idk how anyone can mess up fish chips that badly. Honestly it’s really shame this branch really need works but maybe that’s why it’s dead. Won’t be returning again. Batter on fish was dry and the fish was just bad. Some Steaks were over cooked and nachos was crap compared to the Cardiff bay. Honestly we all love chips but Jesus these were so salty. Lady was lovely and service was better towards the end with dessert but food...
