A wonderful local gem. Post office and tiny cafe, combined. A simple menu of bacon, egg or sausage sandwiches with a long list of home-baked cakes (all delicious). Very cosy, dogs extremely welcome (always treats available and usually they can have their own slice of bacon if you ask…) a selection of daily papers available to read. Very relaxed. It’s one person running the whole show so sometimes you have to wait, but that’s part of its charm.

When we visited the lady was rushed off her feet trying to single -handedly run a cafe and a post office but the cake that she herself had made was well with the wait.

Really nice service and homemade food. We loved the small room and the quality of food served. The lemon drizzle and the scones were delicious.

What an absolute gem of a cafe. We visited Montgomery for the castle and then popped into the town for a cuppa and cake and were so happy we chose this place. The tea room was absolutely adorable and the lady serving (owner I presume) was so nice. We had three hot chocolates for our kiddies, a black americano and a decaf tea, as well as a vegan flapjack, a rocky road which the lady happily cut in half for our little ones to share, a huge slice of Victoria sponge and a delicious lemon drizzle cake. The cakes were homemade by the lady and they were probably amongst the best we've had! Such a warm welcome and lovely atmosphere and there were dominoes and Welsh language snap cards to keep the kiddies occupied too. We even bought three knitted donkeys from the handmade items on sale and a beautiful...

We are on holiday near Montgomery and came to the village for lunch and a walk. Most of the restaurants were either busy or closed so we spoke to the lady in Ivy House Cafe and we were told she had 2 tables where she could seat our party of 7 and to come back in 10 mins. We went back a few minutes later to wait to be told she'd given the table back to 2 customers who had left an hour before!! She was rude and not very apologetic even though we'd booked. She didn't really look like she knew what she was doing. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and we will not be visiting again. If I could give no...

My son and Grandson were on our way to mountain walk on the Cader Idris massif for a few days and we stopped off during the week in Montgomery. We went to the Ivy House Cafe and were greatly blessed by the kindness and helpfulness of Denise and the staff. We were delighted by the ambient homely environment that in a cherished way acted as such a good ambassador for the local area. Our coffee was excellent and all served in a range of mugs - men's stuff indeed. We left a prayerful blessing in Christ upon the folks, cafe and town - until He returns, thank you Lord,...
