This should be 4.5 stars really. Visited at about 6ish on a Friday in July. Sat on the terrace. The food was lovely if a bit pricy by gower standards; ordering a la carte significantly increased the cost of 3 courses but the staff explained this up front. The view was amazing today, clear right across to England which really made the experience special albeit that I was on my own with only a kindle for company. The negative aspects were service - sitting outside you have to go up and order. I don't mind this in a pub but in a venue with food of the standard offered it was a bit off putting. This extended to having to go up for every drink. Probably why I noticed the pricing. The staff were friendly enough but I don't think it would be bustingly difficult to take orders. Next on the to fix list was the cleanliness of the loos. Loos are a barometer for a place and these were messy - not filthy just messy. It would be nice to know where the food comes from - is this local stuff or not? I'd like the confidence that the food hasn't just been delivered by Brake brothers. Penultimate whinge: the glacial speed of the website. I tried 2 different browsers on both desktop and mobile and it had the loading speed of a 1990s 1gb desktop on dialup. I gave up trying to book and phoned instead. Last note: I don't know if I'd bring our boys here. There were rules about where chairs could go and on wearing shoes (this is on the beach front) that were rigorously enforced by a member of staff to quite small children. Not sure how mine would cope with having to be perfect. I would definitely go here again despite the small niggles, probably as a group of adults.

This is a special restaurant in a really beautiful spot in Mumbles. The restaurant has a really nice view overlooking Langland Bay. We came for a late dinner and the service and food was excellent all round. I quite liked the Aspall Cider that I got and the food was delicious from top to bottom. They had a great selection of foods that made it difficult to choose in the best way. I got the fishcake as my starter (chunky fishcake, Parmesan white wine, cream & spinach Florentine sauce, crispy capers and got the Duck Confit as my main (Confit of duck leg, sweet potato puree, sautéed tenderstem broccoli & mange tout, toasted almonds, thyme & red wine jus). The fish cake has a nice crisp crust and paired deliciously with the Parmesan and spinach sauce. The duck was also very tasty and was a good portion that left me with left overs. For dessert we got the raspberry & pistachio petit gateaux and the Knickerbocker Sundae (Knickerbocker glory, boozy muffin, toffee sauce, roasted hazelnuts poached pear and cola sorbet). The little cake was delicious with the perfect amount of tartness from the raspberry that paired nicely with the pistachio. I really wanted to like the sundae, but it just was not good. Didn’t quite realize how bizarre the combination of ingredients was. The food was great but was very expensive coming in at like 40 quid for 3 courses. The service was great and the servers were super friendly and welcoming. Everything (except for the Knickerbocker desert)was wonderful and the only downsides were that we felt a bit rushed (our reservation was for 8:30 shortly before the kitchen closed) and it was quite expensive.

I left wanting more and not feeling completely satisfied ... Langland's Brasserie is a very popular restaurant in an extremely beautiful setting, while also being a tourist hotspot. Over many years of visiting, most of the time, I have had good experiences, and on some occasions when it's extremely busy, it's been unbearable. However, I must say, based on my visit today and despite it being very busy, the restaurant side seemed to keep food standards high for everyone else but me, with everyone else raving about their choices. I decided to be abit more adventurous than the rest of the party with Dorset Escargot with garlic butter & parsley, served with bread, and Bouillabaisse of cod, mussels, king prawn & calamari, crusty toasted sourdough topped with rouille. Unfortunately, I did not rate the Escargots, and I believe they were poorly cooked and way too chewy compared to other restaurants I have had these. Despite the amazing flavours, I was also not too impressed with the portion size of the Bouillabaisse of cod and the chewy calamari ... I felt everyone else got a lot more for their money. I would recommend trying the Langland Brasserie as I have had very memorable days and evenings here with outstanding quality ... I now just know what to avoid on the menu.

Underwhelmed. Great reviews lead us to book here. Saw great photos of the Seafood banquet for 2 at £80 and thought it looked devine, online. Very disappointed when the fresh prawns and calimari came out fried. The 3 different fish varieties were tasty, yet a little overcooked. The Mussels in the picture appeared in person in front of us in a red sauce. Although nice, was not as expected. I would encourage the restaurant to update their menu pictures to accurately represent their menu. Fresh was expected and not delivered. The thick cut chips and garden salad both hit the spot. Service was OK, wine menu very over priced. Paying for the view mostly, but feel this money could be better spent on fish and chips on the beach for a fraction of the price. The feel of the restaurant was very blamd also. No atmosphere to speak of. Very quiet, hush tone. Didn't real relaxing at all. Needed some kind of pizzaz to liven it up, especially on a dreary, non sunny day. Wouldn't recommend.

Stopped here on the off chance as we'd extended our planned walk and happened to be passing at lunchtime. The welcome was friendly but we almost didn't stop as we were only shown the main menu and it wasn't until we said that we wouldn't be staying as we wanted something lighter that the bar meals menu was offered. The food was excellent quality and portion sizes were good. Prices were reasonable given that. I didn't like having plates cleared away while I was still picking at the chips as it felt like we were being rushed although no one batted an eyelid as we sat there for quite a while after this finishing our jug of Pimm's so I think the waitress was just being a little too efficient. I would certainly return, and actually recommended it to friends visiting the next day.

The restaurant is overpriced for poor quality of food. Avoid at all cost. Mussels (£19) are not fresh, in poor state and tasteless, including 1/3 portion unopened shells and 1/3 portion broken shells. It gives me diarrhea within an hour. Crab cake (£10) is like those frozen from supermarket. Chips are ok, but my daughter who loves meat would not touch the bacon. There's no table service and you have to order at the counter with the table number. The waiter split the drinks all over our table. We really regret going there. We should have bought a sandwich in the kiosk nearby instead and save £100. Fabulous view cannot make it up for the bad experience.
