Surfside Cafe - Rotherslade Bay — Restaurant in Wales

VERY EXPENSIVE prices are the kind you would expect at a higher end restaurant. Wouldn’t pay £12 for a panini or £11 for a toasted sandwich. Crazy. Tiny cakes for high prices also. Paid £7 for a bagel as I was very hungry but it was just dumped on the table, no smiles from the staff. Nice bagel but no presentation whatsoever. Cutlery was grubby. Very basic for the money. Decor is half hearted. Staff couldn’t really care less. Only good thing here is the view. We saw a couple come in, read the menu and leave. I think because this company is the only cafe on the beach front they can charge what they want. (This was the Rotherslade branch). Such a shame as this could be a lovely stop off. Would recommend adding some cheaper items to the menu and seriously rethink those high prices. Customers walking out...

Such a lovely place to meet up. I can't walk but my friend had a dip in sea & another had a walk on beach. I met them for toasted tea cake & a cup of tea followed by a large Americano. My friend had a toasted sandwich with salad which looked lovely. Guy our server was so polite , very friendly & brought our drinks & food to us. It was lovely & warm inside as the wood burner was on. The door is very heavy (I assume because of the wind) so if you are on sticks or a walking frame you will require another person to open door for you. Guy did a very good pattern on the coffee today & I took a picture & posted it but I don't think it did the coffee justice. Sorry...

Stopped for lunch, gluten free options minimal and of course expensive. So I had the salad £10.50 some tuna mayo, red onions, lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. Underneath the mayo there was cheese, thought it was odd, but worst still realised it was couscous. Obviously this is durum wheat & not gluten free! £10.50 was a lot and even more, now I have to spend a few hours hoping I didn't eat any! I commented to a member of staff who shrugged! Not exactly the most helpful thing to do! Won't be going back and can't recommend. Poisoning people is not cool! If I was allergic, it would have been a very different situation! Please...
