Popped in for lunch on my birthday with my husband and daughter. Eaten here before and the food has been ok. However on this occasion I have to say it was not good. My husband and I ordered rib eye steak, which wherever you go is normally a lovely steak and it's a little more expensive but as it was my birthday I thought why not. When they arrived they looked like they had been beaten with the mallet to death! Mine was just ok, not as nice as I'd expected but ate it none the less. My husband only had a couple of bites of his and left the rest. When the waitress came to clear the plates she asked if there was a problem with the steak a d my husband said it was not very nice, and I told her that it was really chewy! To which she replied "can I get you ankther" we declined, no offer was made for a free item to compensate. Then we ordered dessert, I ordered the banoffee cheesecake, only to find it was frozen!! Sent it back and changed it to something else instead. Again no offer was made for any form of refund or free drink etc! It's such a shame as the curry is real nice here as I've had it a few times. Sorry but wont be rushing back, this is one of a few bad experiences but I keep thinking "well...
Read moreMy son and I went to the Llangewydd arms yesterday for a bite to eat. In my 64 years on the planet I have never eaten such a substandard meal. I am angry with myself that I did not complain when there. I should have. I ordered the steak pie and asked if I could have a jacket porato rather than chips. No we don't do jacket potato I was told but I could have mash. I opted for the mash. When it arrived the pie was rock hard and I would suggest past it's sell by date. The contents were mostly gristle. The gravy was lumpy and absolutely tasteless the mash grey and flavourless. The peas were ok. My beer (marstons pedigree) was cloudy and again flavourless. My dog who was allowed in had a field day with the carpet suggesting that this could do with a good clean. I am posting this as a warnibg to potential customers and a heads up to the Brains company who I believe own the chain to please SORT THIS OUT! If I could give it no...
Read moreFantastic to have a local dog friendly pub. Good range of beer and gins .. and drinks were well presented. A pity about the state of the outside seating area .. toys (a trip hazard) scattered tables and chairs in need of tlc. Also the noise from the speakers is very loud .. this lost the pub one star at least
Dog friendly which is great and biccies provided - thank you. However beware that if you sit in the area by the outside door (which has artificial grass) this is not the place for dogs ... we were told (admittedly nicely) after about an hour of sitting in the wrong place. It just needs to be made clear as it would make sense for the dogs to be by the door. Signs please if it is that important.
Staff friendly - we...
