Lovely local pub with very yummy food at a very reasonable price. Lots of room to park and I would recommend booking if wanting to eat here as it is very popular. Entertainment every weekend, pool table, darts, karaoke and very friendly staff. I'll definitely be visiting here regularly 😊👍 (Picture is of hunters chicken and double egg burger, would also recommend the homemade steak pie and chicken curry)

Cracking pub in Bridgend. The food quality and portions are excellent and very good value. Not particularly easy to find if you're not from the area but well worth expedition up the lane to get there. Staff are nice and with darts, pool, a wood burner and Sunday roasts, what more do you want from a pub!

Well organised and staff very attentive to your needs very friendly and welcoming. Had the mixed grill which didn't disappoint large portions and meat cooked to perfection. Many of the desserts home made and a very cold pint of strongbow to wash it down with. Would definitely recommend.

Didn't get chance to eat so cant rate the food. Walked in on a wednesday afternoon with hubby and daughter, we'd heard good things about the food so we thought we'd give it try. Asked the blonde lady behind the bar if it was ok to have food and was snapped back at with the question "have you booked!" My reply was that I didnt know we had to! At this point all the people that were near had heard her snap and were now all watching us, felt quite uncomfortable. She found us a seat, we decided what to eat so I stood at the bar waiting to order with the menu in my hand. The same blonde lady was serving someone their drink and looked at me standing there with the menu in my hand waiting to order. When she then came to serve me I started to give her my food order to which she replied "I dont take the food order here only the drinks, you order your food at the end of the bar!" Couldnt have told me that when you saw me standing there waiting to order with menu in hand! Called over to my hubby to ask him for the debit card to pay when we ordered only to be told by the same lady they dont take card payments, but theres a free cashpoint machine in the other room. As I felt that the service we had received this far wasn't great we decided to leave without ordering any food and went elsewhere instead. Most people rate a place in how they are received when they walk in the door and unfortunately this place was really let down as soon as we walked in and got barked at and we won't be returning...

We came in to celebrate Chinese New year booking was very friendly and smooth, I had problems my side which made me change the booking twice and that was done without a problem or comment. My mother had hunters chichen, (mother is seriously fussy) finished the plate, me, my brother and father had the 10 ounce ribeye medium rare came out perfect, we went out for a cigarette in the outside smoking area to which the landlord joined up for a chat. She explained the whole menu and more. This really got me excited to try the food. My sister had a very very well done steak as requested and it came out juicy! Amazing service with friendly staff catering to all six of us including a 3yr old. Patience of the gods is an understatement. I would 100% recommend this place. They also cater to gulden intolerance and gluten free with 80% of the menu if not more. If you want a good night out eating this place is the place. The landlady and her husband are a warm welcome. They even came over to the table to wish us all a Happy Chinese New year in such a polite wa. Amazing truly amazing

EDIT: The place has changed owner and so...

Wow very common place in same position as witherspoon. The time was 17:45 a good few people enjoying the weather outside but we sat inside there was no one else eating inside only about 8-9 people who I never want to be around again having a drink. One customer sitting by the bar broke wind just before we had our food which stunk the bar area out. As soon as we ordered food and returned to our table a customer sat right next to us his arm on our table spread himself out well this was throughout the duration of our meal. We had both paid £13.00 for our meal well when it arrived it was small and my friends chicken was dry it was like a wetherspoons meal and unfortunately a bit more expensive. When I was last here it was run by 2 ladies from the rock in Porthcawl it was a very popular place but sadly they split up and went there own ways. We was in search of a place to have something to eat local to the area we was in as we were staying local our experience was not pleasant we will not be returning...
