Pimento — Restaurant in Wales

As local residents, my wife and I have visited this cafe on dozens of occasions over the Years. As the food, and coffee are of such a high quality we have always ignored the dreadful service. Today was the breaking point though. Yet again my wife was stood waiting to order our drinks, whilst numerous staff members walked past her without a hint of acknowledgement. After approx 5 min of this I spoke politely to a waitress, and explained my concerns. Next the Managaress emerged with plates of food. She then decided to have a stand up row with me, whilst said plates of food were getting cold. She stated she was making food( the chef does that). I asked her if that inhibits the ability to say hello to a waiting paying customer. We own our own Mobile catering business, and wouldn't dream of speaking to customers, or anyone else the way we were spoken to. Suffice to say, we won't...

Decided with a bunch of friends to go to their cocktail /wine bar opening last Saturday. They provided music via a duo, can't remember their names, and they were very good. As for the venue itself bit disappointing. Considering it was their first opening night, and obviously first impressions, the drinks were VERY expensive, afterall we are not in some idyllic wine bar in beautiful setting, or in a city, but next to a Tesco express on a housing estate. Some incentive, like buy one cocktail get one free, or even half price. We paid £28 for an average bottle of wine😲. And no general refurb inside. The chairs are worn and scruffy, needs a make over, and please put a fan upstairs . Toilets were awful. I think you can do better and i think locals deserve better to be fair. People locally support you well during day opening hours, why not re-invest. ...

I was overcharged. I asked for the scrambled eggs on toast with an extra of smoked salmon which would have totalled £6.60. When requesting this at the counter, a mysterious person behind the person who was serving me muttered a few words and I thought nothing of it. Turns out he was asking the server to charge me for the smoked salmon & poached egg on toast which was its own item that came with avocado, which I didn't want, hence ordering how I did. This is what I was given and charged for and had to get them to ammend it once the food arrived as there was avocado with my food. I was instead charged £9.85 (a total of £12.95 including a welshcake and a cup of tea) when thinking back on it should have been much less. Be very careful when ordering here as they 'ignore' you for the sake of making an extra buck.
