We can’t say enough positive comments about Tiffany, she’s friendly, cheerful and welcoming. She’s also very helpful with local knowledge. It was a pleasure to meet her. She was professional and sorted out complaint at the time. Which was satisfactory our food to us. But if you don’t know how others have found the place then you can’t make an informed choice. Probably wouldn’t return.I would like to firstly address start 4 star is based solely because of Tiffany our server, we would of said 5 but we wanted to put an honest review.if we had rated the food it would have been 2-3 stars at most. Our entree chicken was over cooked. (It was described as chicken in gravy - a supreme should be chicken in a sauce, not an overcooked chicken breast and a pot of gravy. However the beef was lovely. As a starter we ordered creamed garlic mushrooms (which was more like a sauce for a steak) quite tasteless. Also ordered butternut squash soup of the day. The soup was ok but a little watery. The bread was lovely. We ordered lemon panna cotta which was nice but the short bread biscuits are too thick for the delicate balance. We were given the dessert for my wife and a coffee for myself free as an apology for the chicken.

It was a last minute booking because my wife fancied a Sunday lunch. The only slots were casual slots at the bar area. That was fine we are relaxed casual people. My wife went up to order. I’m vegan so I had a plant based burger. It arrived a little over 5 minutes later. I lifted the brioche lid and what was underneath resembled a slice through a piece of tinned cat food. It was just warm and pink with no sign it had been grilled or fried. It would have taken 20 minutes to grill.!it had clearly been popped in the microwave for 3-4 minutes and served. There was a small pot of aemenic skinny fries, similar to but paler and unseasoned than a Macdonalds punnet of fries. I loathe Macdonalds but their plant burger and fries is better and costs 1/3 the cost of my meal. I took one bite of the insipid burger, ate half the fries and left. I commented to the staff member behind the bar that it was the worst meal I’d ever been served. My wife and I go out for food , once or twice a week and this is the first time I’ve ever complained about a meal. Safe to say I will never return to the Lost Coins again. I certainly lost a lot of coins in return for substandard fast food.

This is my first visit to Wales, and this is the first place I sat down to eat in Wales :) I had to kill some time while waiting to check-in at my hotel (which is next door). So I took a gamble and checked out this Pub/Restaurant. I am vegan, so it is always interesting going in blind in a new and unknown restaurant. I did not know what to expect when entering, so I only aimed to get some fries and a coffee. But when I opened the menu I saw that they had a good amount of vegan options. And what is better....all the vegan options had a green label on them. They have one marking for vegetarian and one for vegan options (which is a huge plus, because that says a bit about their knowledge about the vegan diet). I had a vegan burger with sweet potato fries, a black coffee and the vegan apple pie! It tasted really good, and I will probably come back here another time during my week long stay, so I can try out some of the other vegan options 😎 And off course they have a lot of non-vegan options....but they will have to be reviewed by somebody else ;)

Well I'm sat in the restaurant now bored to death waiting again so I decided to write a fair review! Arrived and asked for a table for 4-5 to be fair we were told the may be a 45 min wait. We were seated and told to order at the bar when we were ready, well that was not exactly what we were looking for but there we go. We decided what we wanted and did our very best to remember the order for the whole table while we waited at the bar, once we started giving the order were were told sorry no sea bass, so that was changed, next person's order sorry no garlic mushrooms so that got changed too. So then I have to carry all the drinks right across the pub to the table myself, 2 trips later I get to sit down. The the food starts to arrive which is when I really started to get irritated!! 1 Starter arrives, 20 mins later another starter arrives with the remaining 4 mains, so we watched 1 person eat a starter while we were starving then I get my starter and main at the same time. Quality of the food was rubbish but given the fact that K had to pay for this upfront there was not much choice but to eat it, trust me if ai hadn't paid we would have walked out and gone elsewhere long ago!! Various people dropped off and collected plates not one asked how everything was, if there had I would have told them, I have written this whole review still sat here table not cleared still not asked how it was. No service whatsoever, if you were expecting a restaurant service don't bother coming here, we won't be back!! Kids didn't finish their brownies either so they must have been bad!

I will say that the Pepsi and decor were quite nice but...

Have visited several times over the past few months and had always experienced great service and food. However, on this visit our experience was not so good. I ordered a chicken tikka from the gluten free menu with rice, poppadoms and mango chutney...my husband ordered the same dish from the usual menu, with naan bread, poppadoms and mango chutney. Our meals arrived and to our disappointment the gluten free option had no poppadoms or mango chutney. I queried this and was advised they would check with the chef. The waiter returned with a mango chutney but no poppadoms as apparently that very day, the poppadoms had been made with wheat flour!! Odd, as they are usually made with rice flour! I queried whether a substitute could be provided, such as chips, instead of the poppadoms, given that my meal looked so much less than my husbands (yet cost the same) and was advised they could check with the chef but that it would cost extra...by this time, our food was getting cooler, I was getting embarrassed by the situation and so I told the waiter, to not go to the trouble of checking with the chef...which they thanked me for! If I had been advised of this situation at the time I had placed my order, I could have chosen something else but instead I feel as though I were left to put up with it! Hopefully, the gluten free menus will be updated so that others don't experience the same embarrassing and disappointing situation. This experience has definitely put us off visiting again, which is a shame as it was becoming a regular habit for us to have a meal at...

Showed up early as I was unaware of the dog. Greeted very friendly and professionally by Beth ( I hope that's correct). In no time at all and with no trouble Beth was able to sort us out and accommodate our needs. We called back for our booking an hour later, we dealt with a different staff member who was equally friendly and pleasant when taking us to our table and she made a fuss of dog we the dog loved. We had two 80 year old plus people in our party who are always concerned about ambience and portion size but none of this was an issue as they ordered with no problems from the child Sunday Roast menu. A third member of staff took our order at the bar and again was friendly and pleasant, this was a feature of every member of staff who either dealt with me or those around us. Food was perfect for the whole family and enjoyed by all. Overall this was a very nice lunch and the older people in our group who are locals mentioned how they would venture out on their own and eat here. On a final note there was an old chap dining who was clearly somewhat of a regular and he appeared to be dealt with like a well loved member of someone's family. He was greeted so warmly, he went to his seat and was told heis drink would be brought straight over and he was even assisted in the short walk to and from the lavoutries. This little thing made my...
