Sadly we didn't have the chance to sample the food so I can't comment on that. We planned our entire walk this morning around having refreshments here and were looking forward to it. I had done my research and found online that said 'dogs allowed'. I fully appreciate that not everyone wants dogs in a cafe so I always check first. I have a small, very well behaved dog so I'm confident she will be fine in a venue which allows dogs. We found a free table and sat down. Then a waitress came to us to say that we were not allowed in with a dog as space was limited. She looked surprised when I told her their website states 'dogs allowed' with no mention of only outside. We were told we could sit in an entrance lobby which we looked at only to find it was just like a tiny storage area with two tables shoved up against a wall and two spare chairs with no table. There was already one couple sitting there as they had a baby and wanted to patk their pushchair there so the only way we could have eaten would have been to have our food on our laps!! It was way too cold to sit outside. So this is just an alert to other dog owners not to be deceived by their published details as you will be disappointed. Such a shame but their business loss was St Elli's gain where we received a warm welcome as ever and where our little dog lay very quietly...
Read moreOur family was cycling along the Millennium path and we stopped there for lunch. This place is a gem, we were stunned by the quality of food, especially kids’ meals! Everything was cooked properly with a home-like attitude. Kids had spaghetti bolognese and nuggets+mash - all cooked in-house, massively better than what you normally expect from “kids meals” , especially for this (low) price. Jacket potato was also great, well-sized potato with plenty of cheddar and veggies on the side. We are not frequent visitors to this area, but if we end up cycling here again, Pavilion cafe will be at the top of our...
Read moreReally disappointed in this cafe. A hot (25°) day of sun - not a cloud in the sky. Lots and lots of people walking/cycling the coastal path. Lots and lots of groups using the playing field adjacent. The cafe advertised widely that it closed to 3.30 pm. We arrived at 3.15 and it was completely closed and clearly had been for some time. Not even an ice cream, or a toilet open. Very disappointing
We were definitely in the right place - doors all locked, lights off, stools / chairs on tables and against the door. Staff were still in the kitchen chatting at 3.15, but definitely not open for...
