Could be good or could be bad! Initially left a one star review as there were no tables available (not a problem) but no option to be put on a wait list, nowhere to wait and unable to estimate when a table could be available. Following the original post the Management asked that I remove it and post an honest and fair one. The details are shown in the photo attached. So I have removed the original one start review and replaced it. Firstly the pub looks a ok from the outside, considering is basically in the corner of a morrisons car park. The staff colleague who was on the welcome podium was pleasant and nice enough but couldn't find us a table and seemed over worked. The empty tables were ones were booked for later on. The queues to order food and drink looked long. Straight ahead there were 5 people standing in a line adjacent to the bar, so I'm assuming they are ordering? To the right were a similar number but not sure if they were food or drink orders. Inside looked tidy and like another family meal type pub. So reevaluate the score with some explanation for the passive aggressive manager in denial. First off I've scored the food as 1 as we didn't eat because there was no option to. If you went to hire a car and the rental place said 'sorry no cars' you wouldn't leave them a 5 star review. Hence you get a one. Service 3 as the staff were pleasant but can only do what they do Atmosphere 3 as it looked tidy and was welcoming. I would however urge you to read my original review and the reply. Make up your own mind up after you have visited.

Visiting this restaurant was unfortunately a disappointing experience that leaves much to be desired in terms of the quality of the meals served. The pizza, which should epitomize simplicity and flavor, turned out to be underwhelming. The lack of essential spices and the decision to use fresh mushrooms, which simply dried out after baking instead of traditional canned mushrooms, was a culinary misstep. What was intended as innovation became a flaw. Additionally, the tomato base was so faint it might as well have not been there, which, considering the high prices, seems unacceptable. Customers expect high-quality products that elevate the standard of the meal, not diminish it. Moving on to the burger, at 12 pounds, I expected much more than what I received. A burger where the dominating feature was hot fat leaking from the patty, served with a side of fries and lettuce mixed with some indistinct sauce, was far from the promising description on the menu. Both the presentation and taste left much to be desired. While the interior of the restaurant and the service were satisfactory, they cannot make up for the fundamental flaws in the dishes served. Serving poor-quality food at a price that suggests a higher standard is not just disappointing but a disrespect to the customer. Unfortunately, based on this visit, it's hard for me to recommend this restaurant to others, and food served under these conditions can only expect a negative review.

I eat here a couple of times per month and usually enjoy the food and my time spent there with the family, I was back today in the standing stones for Saturday lunch with 3 young kids and everything was good including the food and the service, they have a kids menu deal where the kids also get a desert after their meal, the staff check in at the table from time to time to make sure we had everything we needed including crayons and drawing paper to keep the the kids occupied while I had my food. The staff are very helpful and efficient, the food is good pub grub standard and and reasonably priced and what you'd expect to have in a family pub, the staff will cater for any thing you need if it's possible to make your visit more enjoyable, one of the staff Dawn I think her name is was very helpful with a smile even tho I was probably being a bit of a pain asking her for this and that for the kids every 5 minutes, nothing was a problem, There is outside seating for the outdoor alfresco dining experience weather permitting and also an enclosed play area for the kids to play in while you have lunch or a glass of wine or a beer and still be able to keep an eye on the kids, All in all I find it a good pub with good staff and a good selection of food and drink for everyone's taste. They even cater for customers with dogs and have a doggy menu, Sure what more could you ask for? Keep up the good work 👌

Title: An Out-of-this-World Burger Experience at The Standing Stones, Accompanied by the Amazing Service of Harry

Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Standing Stones, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant until the time I left, I was immersed in an exceptional culinary experience. Let me start by raving about the unforgettable burger that left my taste buds jumping for joy.

The Standing Stones undoubtedly serves the best burger I've ever had! Each bite was an explosion of flavors and textures, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The patty was juicy, tender, and succulent, with just the right amount of char on the outside. It was nestled between a soft, toasted bun that added a nice touch of sweetness.

However, the star of the show wasn't just the burger itself but also the exceptional service provided by our server, Harry. From the moment he greeted us with a warm smile, his attentiveness and personalized attention made the dining experience all the more memorable. Harry's knowledge of the menu and his ability to make recommendations tailored to our preferences was truly admirable. He took the time to answer all our questions and ensured that we were comfortable throughout our meal.

Moreover, Harry's professionalism and friendly demeanor were truly remarkable. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, frequently checking in on us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. His genuine passion for his job was evident in the way he engaged with customers, going above and beyond to make each visit special. Harry's attention to detail and commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience made us feel like valued guests.

In addition to the outstanding burger and exceptional service, the ambiance of The Standing Stones added to the overall experience. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere, complemented by the rustic decor and welcoming staff, created a warm and inviting space to enjoy the delicious cuisine.

Overall, my visit to The Standing Stones exceeded all expectations. From the mind-blowing burger to the outstanding service provided by Harry, every aspect of the dining experience was truly exceptional. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure and exceptional service. I cannot wait to return to The Standing Stones and indulge in their amazing...

Went here today with my partner for a meal as we were in the area. My partner has an egg allergy, so we are quite aware when ordering food out. I asked the server if their Lasagne contained Egg, (many in these types of eateries don't, as its made with dried pasta as opposed to fresh), to be told 'I'd expect so, as its pasta'. So my partner chose the sausage and mash, and I had Lasagne with chips, and a garlic bread pizza. The service was quick and efficient, and food did not take very long to come. When it arrived, the garlic bread was shocking. Upon returning the garlic bread, the manager/supervisor dealt with it very quickly, replaced it, and couldn't apologise enough. He was also very apologetic regarding the lack of knowledge and checking of the egg issue with the Lasagne. On a whole, the food was OK, nothing to write home about, but in no way offensive. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and well presented, but again, it doesn't make me think 'I must return here!!' The one saving grace from this pretty unmoving, and unremarkable experience, is how the manager dealt with the issues we had, he was very attentive and apologetic and is a credit to the business, and without his dealings, I'd have probably given this venue 2 starts as opposed to 4. So to sum up, the venue, despite being clean and tidy, was just nothing special, the food was OK, what you'd expect from a pub like this to be honest, and the service was an acceptable standard. The manager/supervisor made this experience for me, because everything else was pretty standard. Would I return??? I highly doubt I'd go out of my way to return here, but I wouldn't 'avoid it like the plague' if I was in the area and hungry again. I've eaten in lot worse places, but I've also had better experiences in similar...
