Ty Te Cenarth Tea Rooms was a delightful place to visit. We went to the falls whilst holidaying in Wales from Kent. Thankfully it was a lovely sunny day. After seeing the falls and doing the circular loop walk, it was time for refreshments. We had the choice of a few pubs or the Tea Rooms. This place looked so inviting and the menu was great. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the young ladies name who was serving that day (Friday 14th June) but she couldn’t have been more helpful. Whilst sitting in the gardens with our two dogs, we saw the lady come out with a ginormous board with a variety of food on it. We asked what is was and it was called the Gentlemans Afternoon Tea. It looked very tasty, but in the end we opted for the traditional Afternoon Tea. I can honestly say, this was one of the most delicious teas we have ever had. The food was in abundance. In the end, my husband and I shared just the one. We had sandwiches, scones, a variety of slices of cake, glass of trifle, fresh cream meringue, jam and the biggest pot of tea I have ever been served up. You certainly wouldn’t go hungry there. On placing our order, we were allowed to choose what sandwiches etc we wanted. Unlike some places where you just get what you are given. And because we were sharing, we were able to have two scones and chop and change which slices of cake we wanted. After five minutes of tucking into our food, the heavens opened but even though dogs were not allowed in the café, one couple were offered the small conservatory to sit with their dog and we were allowed to sit inside by the window out of the rain. I can’t express what a little gem this place is and I highly recommend going there if ever you visit...
Read moreThe tea rooms are excellent value and staff are friendly nearer the summer you will lucky to find a seat as they are popular. We have had both cream teas and afternoon tea here, and the scones are light and tasty. For the afternoon tea there is more than enough whereby we took home doggy bags (boxes). The price is very good value, the is a Gentleman's Tea, that is a bit cheaper and has more Savouries rather than sweet selections. I saw a question regarding mobility there us a ramp for wheelchairs to the cafe interior, but I assume getting to the garden seating would be difficult! Yes, there is garden seating. Although I have sampled the cream and afternoon teas there is a variety of cooked food on the menu and what I saw from others being served the food looks very inviting So overal I/we enjoy coming here and I fully recommend as is usual 24 hours at least notice and asking to reserve seats. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in the food and you can take a short walk over the bridge...
