The Deer's Leap — Restaurant in Wales

Well where do I start 😔 upon entry it looked busy so expected to wait abit. Most tables were dirty with either glasses or dirty plates. We picked one off to the side and cleared the table. We sat looked at menu and it looked promising, ordered at the bar 2 mixed grills and 2 cokes then asked the barman for a cloth to wipe the table. He came and cleaned the table promptly. Within 10 minutes our food was delivered to the table on sizzling plates, we both sat there and looked at a plate of food that resembled something of a leftover BBQ which had been left to char. We were starving and I said it might taste better than it looks oh how wrong were we. Everything was burnt underneath and everything tasted the same, we made a joke of it as we closed our eyes and tried to identify what we were eating. If it wasn't for the mustard and mayo making it almost edible. We didn't complain as some of the staff were rushed off their feet and looked abit stressed whilst the other half looked like they didn't want to be there and didn't care, so we up and left feeling disappointed and saying we won't...

We arrived here just before noon. First impressions (once we found our way in) were quite favourable. It seemed quite big with dining areas to the left and right. The 3 of us chose our meals from the 'Golden Years' section. We all had the battered deep fried mushrooms for starters and they were the best part of our meals. Mum had sausage and mash - the sausages were burnt and not edible, the whole meal was swimming in watery 'gravy' in which the peas were floating and the mash looked very unappetising due to burnt sausages. She would have needed a spoon to eat the gravy. My husband had the gammon, egg + pineapple which came with peas and chips. The egg was very well done, with the edges all brown and the peas were cold. I had the Simply Chicken with Jacket potato and peas. The chicken was very dry, I was grateful that I still had some sour cream from my starters. The table was dirty when we got here and still had the last customers cups and glasses on then we left. All the members of staff were hidden around the corner of the bar have a nice long chat instead of working. The food was inedible I ordered the slow cooked beef and when I came it looked like it had onions on top. I found out this was congealed fat and the whole centre of the beef was pure congealed fat. I’m the thought of trying to eat it made me feel queasy. On top of this the alcoholics sat behind me swearing and shouting was the icing on the cake. I wouldn’t of fed my dog this food and can’t see me coming back again. For what we ordered and got I can say this is highly over prized food made from the poorest part of an animal. Stay away if...
